Has offered a 10% investment and will join his former team mates Giggs, Scholes, Butt and the Neville Brothers, as a shareholder in Salford City AFC. He's now waiting for clearance from the FA before it can be made official.
Scholes might be off to Oldham which would mean he had to release his stake in Salford. I wonder if the two stories are linked?
Salford are in a very good place to gain promotion to L2. Suddenly football seems rotten to me. Are these guys investing in order to cash in at a later date, you have to wonder. It also raises the question as to why the guys who bought Barnsley out ... have they too a hidden agenda. Again suddenly the word Football is giving me a totally sour taste in my mouth.
Seems a reasonable enough reason to invest in a club If I had a **** load of money available and the connections they do, there's 1 or 2 clubs local to me that I'd love to help out
They're retired footballers who have the cash to play real life FIFA Manager. Don't think there's any more to it than that.
