Watched the first part of a three part drama last night outlining the role of DCI Colin Sutton in identifying
and pursuing Levi Bellfield who abused/ raped women at will and was finally imprisoned for life for the
murders of Marsha McDonnell, Amelie Delagrange and Millie Dowler.
Martin Clunes who plays DCI Sutton in the drama " Hunted," was on the sofa with Phil and Holly this morning and divulged how he was allowed to " shadow" murder detectives working for Hampshire Police on a murder case to enable him to bring authenticity to the role. He went on to say something along the lines of " it made me appreciate what the Police have to do. Thank God we've got a Police force. Well we've just about got one, with no thanks to this shitestorm of a Government". Philip Schofield apologised to viewers for Martins outburst and said " that's your opinion", but it's been amazing that Martin Clunes has gained overwhelming support for his comments on social media which is most unusual. The second part of Hunted is on ITV tonight at 9 pm.

He's right though, the only possible phrase you can describe this last 8 years of 'government' has to be 'the shitestorm'.

Top man for calling them out. The first two duties of a government, defend the realm and preserve the queen's peace. They have left both to chance

The role of a government is to serve the people, by providing services to the people. Cutting them to the bone and privatizing effectively removes the need for government.

Conservatives don't seem to understand the word "service". For example, an efficient and effective rail service will get people to work and move goods to time, thereby enhancing the economy and helping us to be productive and competitive. It will almost certainly cost more to run than it generates in revenue but its benefits are incalculable. Their answer: privatise it and wring profit out of it, and never mind if ordinary people can no longer afford to use it. For Rail, substitute any other service and in my opinion the same things apply. Trouble is, I no longer trust other political entities to address this.

It can't be calculated in Excel therefore it's not possible therefore you are wrong .... except that you are 100% correct.

That's gone really quiet recently. I have to presume they are just happily getting on with it on time and within budget and all will be fine and dandy and will reach beyond Birmingham.

Correct. Adam Smith wrote in his paper Wealth of Nations that the economy could be divided into two sectors, productive (ie commercial) and non-productive (ie provision of defence and socially desirable services). He stated you should never judge one by the criteria used to judge the other, except politicians (of both parties) have done for the last three decades and no value is placed on services that are socially beneficial because they can't be measured by a monetary value or they have artificially applied a monetary value which doesn't make sense.

I'm sure you're right. What could go wrong?
Or perhaps we're seeing a lull while somebody quietly buys up all of the empty houses that sit just outside the existing commuter belt...

Read somewhere that Aston Villa can't wait for HS2 to reach Birmingham. It will cut across
their current training complex Bodymoor Heath and they are relying on the compensation they
will recieve to offset any financial penalty imposed for breaching FFP regulations.
