Seen this suggested a few times the last couple of days and I agree wholeheartedly. Just wondering what the general BBS consensus is?

I think it would renew the importance of the Cup and stop teams making 11 changes in the 3rd round. If the FA cup winner is 1st-3rd in the Premier League then 4th place gets the 4th spot.

Absolutely this but not sure on the play off matches. I'm old fashioned and think if you're the third best team you're the third best team and therefore should qualify for whatever that allows. Same with 5th. Good idea though and better than the current set up.

Absolutely. 4th is not an achievement, a cup win is.

    I agree.
Just need to get all the other european nations to agree for this to be viable.

Yes but only because modern football has gone in the wrong direction in so many ways. I refer you to an early post I made.

No. It’s called the champions league and the champions of each league should play in it.

    Finishing 2nd to 4th or winning a cup isn’t being a champion.

    100% absolute categoric no.

Winners of each European top league should go in the Champions league... that's it.

Surprisingly close voting, I've seen a few reasoned arguments in favour on here but not much against.

The name is a joke. It is not a league for Champions.

A European Super League will happen within the next 10 years. When that happens the Europa League is likely to morph into the Champions League of the domestic Champions i.e. As it is now a second rate competition. As others have said money talks in football and the top clubs have never got enough, neither have the top players.

I think that the winner of the FA cup should also get a promotion to the premier league... and if you’re already in it... 6 points... would make it thoroughly more exciting for everyone involved....
