I've been watching Barnsleyfc since 1968.In all that time I have never seen them come first in any league, winning automatic promotion. I hope this will be our year. This is the club I have supported since I was 13years old through thick and thin(generally thin but not always). I remain just as enthusiastic and optimistic as ever and will be glued to the radio riding the tide of emotions that comes from being a reds fan. So can I take this opportunity to wish you all Happy New Year and COYReds!!!
Would be nice to see us win a league at least once. Also if we go up and take our momentum with us and end up in a strong position next January, we don't do another quick fire sale.
Hopes for 2019. Personally - I hope it’s better than 2018. It has to be - 2018 has been a bad year for me. For the club - that the owners really get involved by supporting the manager and improving the facilities.
My hope is that all the 1,200% interest payday loan companies are shut down and replaced with credit unions to help the despairing debt ridden millions. Private car parking companies should be shut down and their directors made to dig ditches for a living Zero hours contract should be outlawed and the minimum wage raised to £10 per hour Also all online bingo and gambling sites-and facebook/twitter/instagram/google etc.should be closed to address the huge problem of debt, phone addiction, data stealing, fraud, and online bullying. Anyone running a Black Friday sale should be put in the stocks and pelted with their own unsaleable tat. All TV adverts should be banned and replaced with 3 minutes of soothing English chamber music Sky TV should be opened up to proper competition. 50% of the National Lottery profit should go to fund affordable housing and support for the vulnerable and homeless. The other 50% should go towards the NHS, our most treasured asset National Service should be re-introduced for a 9 month period at age 18 Children should be taken out into the fresh air and have things pointed out to them, such as trees, the sky, clouds, rivers etc, and instructed how to behave respectfully to each other without the aid of a smartphone. Barnsley to gain promotion- but in fact that's the most likely outcome of all the above! Happy New Year to all Reds
Don’t agree with National Service. It’s bad enough we send volunteers to war zones/ trouble spots, let alone young folk who don’t even want to be part of the military.
