    That’s true.
    IMO there is nothing being done at Barnsley to widen the appeal of the club or create something that the people of Yorkshire in places like Wakefield can relate to.

    Here's a link to Leeds supporters club and all its official branches.

    As much as we might not like it, they have international appeal, but that hasn't happened overnight. It probably goes back to the days of Don Revie, and generations of Barnsley folk have supported them since then. It's in their blood now.

    You have to ask what we were doing when leeds were the team to beat. Those ties take time to build and it would take something really special for us to turn the tide.

    I am seriously canvassing support for the Reds down here in Thailand on holiday. Pattaya Reds! Got a few Russians on board and one or two ladyboys. Getting some wristbands made with Barnsley FC - and wearing the shirt and selling the idea to motoribke taxi boys who have Man Utd or Arsenal stickers on their bikes. Going well so far - I am thinking of chartering a flight for the next big game.....PATTAYA REDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Why do you think they did that?
    Why do you think they hijacked the white rose and started to play in white?
    If you talk to Leeds fans they genuinely believe that Leeds United represents ALL OF YORKSHIRE.

    One thing they don’t have in their name is TYKE - which of course is synonymous to people throughout Yorkshire.
    The term ‘Yorkshire’ has great selling power.
    It is seen as something substantial with value.

    Any business would seize the opportunity and use the nickname of Yorkshire to its full potential.
