Unfortunately he’d do really well there. Experienced pro’s at the club plus a couple of target men & good set piece takers there as well.
Sir Mick is a top manager but I don't think they'd go any further under him. They're bringing loads of youth players through which wouldn't suit and will wanna be aiming for play offs still this season. Their current manager seems to have his hands tied a little bit so don't see why he's under so much pressure after losing to arguably the best team in the league. I may be wrong!
Also, when Mick talks, he makes sense - this Chairman only goes for managers who make no sense in interviews.
Nixon tweeted that Mick is keen on the job and Wednesday know this also. Their forum makes for a good read alot want chansiri out. I imagine their fans would be happy with mick but If they appointed hecky they would go into total meltdown.
He would be a popular choice with their fans if it does happen. How would us Reds fans feel about it? Just refreshed memory of his managerial career and besides Rep of Ireland and he has only managed four league clubs previously, the nearest being Wolves. He would turn round their season and possibly get them into the play offs I for one hope that it doesn’t happen
I hope it doesn't happen, but if it does, fair enough. He has a right to earn a living. So much time has passed since the brilliant memories he created at Barnsley for many of us, that they would not be tarnished for me. I actually started supporting Ireland when he was manager, but that wouldn't happen in this case, if the speculation proved correct. I'd still enjoy us beating them as much & I'm sure there would be no sentiment on his part.
He's managed Millwall and Wolves so if he joined Wednesday he would just be continuing the theme of managing some of our most hated teams.
I agree with with you JP and for sure Mick will not be overly concerned with our feelings. For once though I would not be able to wish him well
Why are Wolves one of our most hated teams? I dont have any strong feelings for them either way. I know Mark McGee was a total prat when managing them but that was the individual not the team itself
I really hope he doesnt go there. Good manager and will stabilise the club and I dont want that to happen
Would be an interesting pairing.... big Mick laying down the law in his gruff Barnsley fashion and Chansiri talking about his tins of tuna.
Chansiri wants yes men now. Managers that would be thankful of a job and just put up with the cost cutting and christmas firesale. Dont think big mac falls into that category personally.
Must be finding it hard to tek a break from footie if he is interested in that job, either that or just gerrin a contract for 2/3 year and doing 12 months for the cash.
I think I'd rather see Wednesday improve and keep their manager rather than Mick go there. I can't think of anyone more Barnsley than Mick. Let them have Heckingbottom. He's already sullied his reputation.
