I'm gutted. I make an average income as a DJ & a game like today costs me £450 to attend in terms of lost earnings & travel costs. That said I can only assume there was a very good reason. The ambulance & air ambulance took a ridiculous time to get on site 20 mins for the former & 30 mins for the latter. We seem to care about having hundreds of officers at local derbies, than having one ambulance on site. F-ing disgrace. Not blaming the club, I assume this is council / police stuff.
That is a “personal point of view”, here’s mine, you are a disgrace to the club. 30 minutes to assess a medical emergency, plan appropriate interventions which includes requesting an air ambulance, liaising with the air ambulance service, scrambling air ambulance crew, flying to Oakwell and landing in the confines of a stadium. 30 minutes! I think that is top work from people with jobs that matter and save lives. Go away and play your records in your intensely high pressure job...
if the site admin do not discipline this guy severely than I will lose all confidence and respect in all of them.
**** me! i had a quid treble which became a double and didn't win as much, have we to do a joint law suit? surely this is a wind up post
the other thing is the area the air ambulance have to cover.... is very large, and they do not have a squadron of helicopters too..... 30 mins is pretty good. Also an ambulance was there well before as were very well qualified medical personnel... the Air ambulance would have been called as it gave the lad the very best chance to get to a specialist unit way quicker than road ambulance.
Have you even read the post? I'm not blaming the club. Questioning how many police vs NHS personnel, is that out of order? Absolute stupid response. 20 odd minutes for an ambulance at a football match with over 10000 is terrible. Grow up & read what I was talking about. Yes, it was a bit selfish at the start, but it was mean't to be a real post. Most of the people who posted against me were not even at the match.
Was it a heart attack? I hear different stories every time. If it was i thought clubs had defibs in the ground ever since Fabrice Muamba? 30 minutes is a massive difference when it comes to a heart emergency. I hope the lads ok!
Services are being stretched to the limits- my 103 year old neighbour had to wait 2 hours for an ambulance after cutting her head open.
PS I did not want to mention it, but I have DJ'd fundraisers for the air ambulance over the last 20 years.
perhaps your initial concern was that you could have appeared on bullseye and heard "have a look at what you could have won" 99.9% of others don't really give a toss and just hope the person is now ok
Defibrillators are for arythmia (heart attack). For a stopped heart it does nothing. In that case you need compressions, which is what they were doing.
Look, were you at the match? Did you read my post? I'm quoting the second line of my post: "That said I can only assume there was a very good reason." I'm personally looking forward to seeing Brad Potts. Have you ever heard of him? I doubt it.
