He fit stendels system really well and I hope Woodrow can bring some of the same energy to the table but we haven't been the same since he has left. Not sure if he will be any good at millwall today was only his 1st start for them and they are one of the smaller teams in the division with one of the smaller budgets I imagine they will be nearer the bottom 3 at the end of season.
It's okay we have two 20 year old strikers to rely on one who was on loan at chesterfield last season the other who scored loads for our under 23s.
Still that’s two better options than Woodrow, both of who didn’t cost us anything by comparison at the moment.
Totally agree. He went for family reasons which I can understand except for what shithouse of a football club.
Watched most of the first half and Millwall were dire, no shots on or off goal. Tough times ahead this season for Millwall and Bradshaw, it was like watching him again as he was last season under Hecky never looked a threat.
I wish he was still with us , still cannot get my head around why we sold him but its been done to death & he has gone , end of .
1.5 million for a striker that can not hit a ball off the floor with any power, never saw him even in warm up, hit a clean strike
Keep thinking about the whole thing....I was made up when we didn't sell him before the deadline (not realising about this loan type thing). Would we all do the same if our partners wanted to move back with our families? For the record and imho...I thought he would get a minimum of 15 to 18 goals this year...but if he didn't...it was his high press that suited us so well and as a team player... he was ideal for this squad and coach. I wish him well.....he always gave 100%...now it lo looks like our replacement is still not fit...I do hope he is worth the 2 month wait (I'm sure he will be good). So there is no info coming out ...how woodrow was injured or if we bought him injured....if we did...I think we have gambled on "getting by" until he is fit and playing victor or moncur etc. We do miss the high press from bradshaw and need someone in there to do the job...the matches of late have been closer than they should have been. It's just a shame that bradshaw partner couldn't be more tolerant of her husband's career...but I guess why whould she bother If he plays or not?..he gets paid and she has her move to be near her family. Anyway just hope we can start picking up with performances and getting some 3 points back on the board...hopefully we have behre.. Dougall ....and potts all fit for the burton game.
From what Stendel has said, he wasn't injured when we signed him. Looks like that at some point after he'd agreed to join us, he's pulled up in training with what appears to be a hamstring tear. You have to be very careful with that kind of injury. Try to play too soon and you can cause long term damage. I'm reading Brian Cloughs book " Walking on Water" at the moment. In it he tells of leaving Martin O' Neill out of a crucial European game even though the player and Forests Physio said he was OK to play. Irrespective of how long a Physio said a player would be out, as a precaution, Cloughie always added a further two weeks to any time period he was given.
Dug out the gloating Millwall tweet I got from August....petty but heyho. Seems it’s the tactics and not Tom top scorers fault.
