Salisbury is a city. One of only 69 officially in the UK. Popular with foreign tourists for cathedral and proximity to Bath and Stonehenge. He survived, but where did the Novichok come from? Is airline security still so lax you can take nerve agents onto a plane?
I've always wondered how it was administered, without exposing themselves to it. Same with the murder of Kim Jong-un's brother.
They travelled through Londons airport and sent the chemical through Manchester ;-) To be honest I think they will be wheeled out and lauded as innocent and never to be seen again afterwards. Putin cant be happy they attempted to kill an ex spy. Failed. Took his daughter too and increased the profile of the failure. Took a policeman ill and increased the failed profile even further. Then injured and killed some innocent bystander in a separate failing. To cap it off, got identified and left behind a series of evidence said to be enough to go to court. Putin im sure would have needed to 'speak' to the accidental tourists too. I bet the instructions were listen Mr Laurel and Mr Hardy, get in and out as quiet and quick as possible, kill Skripal and leave no trace.
I just looked at the timeline of their visit. Friday afternoon fly into London. Saturday, go to Salisbury, stay for less than two hours because it was too muddy and slushy. Sunday, go back (presumably all the slush had gone). Stayed for less than two hours. Went back to London and flew home. Course they were tourists! Ffs how stupid do the Russians think we and the rest of the world are?!
