with the risk of extremists targeting smaller venues, less high profile places with less stringent checks, etc, shouldn't all bags be checked at matches? This includes home fans as anybody can buy a ticket. I hope the club staff have had prevent training and there is increased security this afternoon. Extremists are realising that there are easy targets and our football ground could be one of them!

I think bag checks at oakwell would be a bit disproportionate. We probably aren't high up the list of terrorist targets and even if we were they could just do something at full time when there are dense crowds leaving the ground.

That would put me off going to football even more. Police escorts at away games, being frisked, extortionate prices. If I was an outsider and someone asked me to go to a match (away match especially), I'd tell them to do one. Whats next? Strip and Delousing before entry to ground?

I'm not having a go pal, It justs winds me up that people can't enjoy themselves these days. Too many arseholes out there want to spoil everything.

Why stop there - we should all be x-rayed & strip searched as we enter the ground aswell. And when we leave.

The only items prevented from entering Oakwell are barrels of beer

I've got to bring a bag with me to Oakwell (and every where i go) with recovering from postrate surgery but have not been stopped yet this season at Oakwell, personally i'm glad but i fully expected getting searched.
