And I feel that Idi Amin probably had a low moral compass and that David Beckham drove a bit too fast and decided not to pay the fine because the law states he doesn't have to.

Out of interest which offences do you back the guilty party in trying to get out of? Just trying to work out where people's tipping point is. Where is the line? Taking it to the extreme I've seen many murderers try to get off with it on technicalities as the law allows. I'd label them as scum though.
Nothing to do with morals. The law is the law, and the Police have to follow it strictly too. What's the point in having a 14 day notice if it is disregarded? If they sat on it for 3 years is that ok too?
Isn't this technicality just a case of the notice of prosecution being one day late? And hasn't this solicitor got a long track record in getting people off from offences due to technical loopholes? Now I would have thought that when somebody is in the position that Beckham is in, having admitted that he was doing 19mph above the speed limit, just accepting he was wrong would have been a better option than wriggling out of it on a technicality. It really doesn't reflect well on him at all in my opinion. The notice of prosecution was one day late. Doing nearly 60mph in a 40mph zone is bloody dangerous and irresponsible. I think Beckham is wrong to wriggle out of this.
It’s hard to see it as anything other than a law for them and a law for us though, if it was that obvious it was late, surely he wouldn’t have gone for this git of a lawyer who specialises in getting the wealthy off crimes that they have definitely committed on technicalities. I think Beckham has previous form form for speeding too
This just about nails it and I agree entirely. What he should have done is come out with a statement saying that he recognises what he did was wrong, apology for his actions etc, but at the same time be up front in that the law offers the chance to avoid prosecution which he will take. And finish by giving a big wedge to a road safety charity. And the golden balls still shine

Caught speeding in America in 2008 but got away with it when photographers distracted the police officer and caused so much of a scene that he gave him a warning instead Caused an accident in America in I think 2011 when he was speeding and according to witnesses driving recklessly
