Get well soon BB but if you think you're ill you should feel sorry for the guy who's just been rushed into A&E with 15 toy horses up his arse. Doctors say his condition is stable
Not had kidney stones and don't want them.....from all accounts they are excruciating. Anal fistula - OMG - this is awful. My prostatectomy was a doddle in comparison as I was under the influence of a spinal anaesthetic - two weeks of catheterisation wasn't fun, but hey ho...I am still here...you will be out soon...
Bad ****. Still laid in a corridor on a temp bed. No beds in any wards free. Apparently hospitals are all like this now
I sympathise with you GRBB, as I've had it once. Jeezus it's very painful. The Doc gave me a drug called Naproxen. First sign of any pain in my big toe now, I take a tablet every four hours for a couple of days and it sorts it out. Nothing to do with boozing apparently. It's caused by over production of Uric acid that crystallises around the foot joints. Very painful. As for the reference to childbirth. I always think of the guy who dislocated his shoulder playing football. He's laid on the trolley in Casualty screaming his head off as they snapped it back into joint. The Casualty Nurse says " you big baby. We've just delivered twins for a woman in the next cubicle and she never even murmured." Guy says " you try putting 'em back."!!!!
System is ******. Was in a corridor all night and day yest. Told i was moving at 6.20am. I was to a fuckin small plastic chair. Cuts cuts cutsby these tory scum cause this up and down our once great nation. May out
Unfortunate sign of the times BB. Our dedicated NHS workers are as equally frustrated as the patients they attend to. My wife dedicated her working life to the NHS. She used to get up for her shift and I could hear her singing as she got ready to leave. She absolutely loved what she did. Last few years what with the 12 hour shifts, lack of equipment ( no defibrillator on her ward) , lack of training, poorly qualified staff / poor English ( a lot from the Phillipines), poor pay, patient complaints, lack of leadership, low morale etc, she detested every single time she had to turn up for her shift. She used to come home in tears and was usually utterly exhausted. When I decided to retire, I begged her to follow suit. She did and set up her own little business. She's now back to her normal happy chirpy self. She still meets up with her former colleagues for a coffee and a chat. They are all feeling the same. Counting down the days till they can get their pensions cos they can't wait to get out. It's the same with the Police as well. Totally demoralised by this penny pinching lot of politicians who are paring public services to the bone. Even if they are ousted , the damage is now so deep, unless the money can be found, it will be very difficult to restore the NHS to its former levels of some fifteen years ago. First job would be to unravel and run down the PFI's. They are costing an absolute bomb.! They were started under a Labour regime and are truly the scourge of the NHS as they are draining vast amounts of cash from front line services.
Every public service has been squeezed for the last 30 years. This hasn’t happened overnight, but without a country willing or able to pay more taxes, where could the money come from?
True .. not happened overnight .. May is a first class lovely person, but saint Tony was no better Not jezza's biggest fan, but he runs rings round anyone else on this subject
Sending you all the best mate. Just watch this. Will make you feel very happy. https://www.owlstalk.co.uk/forums/topic/267957-sheffield-wednesday-vs-barnsley-3rd-november-1979/
Must disagree with you ,in the last 11 years I have been in hospital for multiple Myeloma, kidney cancer ,kidney removal and dialysis and the treatment and aftercare has been first class.
I share the view about fistula, been under the knife six times for them. Cutting seton, draining seton, and so on. Weird things. Having an additional "exit hole" was comical at times, especially passing wind. Occasionally resulted in separate notes being played at the same time, and sounding like a two-tone train horn. Worst chain of events was when I was on holiday in Cornwall in 2012. Went boarding at Fistral Beach in day 2, and broke ribs on both sides of my chest. By day 4, is also developed and abscess where the sun don't shine (as a result of a fistula). Could lay on either side and then couldn't sit down either. Ended the holiday in Royal Cornwall Hospital. What fun.
