No secret that Kenny Jackett doesn't think he fits in to the way he wants the team to play. He's keen to recruit players he thinks will fit into his preferred system, so Chaplin is surplus to requirement. Hopefully there will be some further development before next Friday's loan window deadline.
Asked not to be involved with Pompey today.. https://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/...oss-conor-chaplin-asked-not-to-play-1-8614337
Down Portsmouth at moment...and been speaking to a fan . He really rated him and thought he was quick with a great shot and would suit a high press game. Very disappointed that he is not in pompy plans and stayed we would have a "gem of a player"....if we could work on him and give him some game time. He also me told Pompy had yet to play well .......yet.
I don,t blame him they are just feckin him about,he,s probably had enough. Although it,s not the best thing to do down tools.
True. But, in some ways I don’t mind - it shows the player wants to play and not sit there and take a wage. We’ve had plenty in the past who didn’t give a **** whether they played or not - so long as they got paid.
Hope we aren't trying to bring him in. Poor attitude by him. He's a professional football player, but not being professional by using a weak excuse to try and engineer a move. Doing that to Pompey, what's to stop him doing the same to us one day.
It is very winnall-esque...which I suppose isn't a bad thing if that extends to his hunger/ability as well.
We poach, make them better, then get them poached from us. That’s just how it goes. Nothing new - happens to all clubs. I give Arsenal as an example.....
