Victor adeboyejo he looks set to partner moore at Scunthorpe and I'd imagine he will see it as a big opportunity and be raring to go. Still only 20 years old though so don't want to put too much pressure on him but he will see this as his chance to try cement a 1st team place. Obviously we still need 2 strikers in because if moore or vic get injured we have 1 striker but good luck to the lad on Saturday.
That's is exactly how the lad has got to see it. If he does start it's a huge chance for him to stake a claim. Though we may go with Moncur instead
I though God was more Moncur‘s forte? When he’s on his game, he’s a great player at running with the ball but it doesn’t seem to happen enough does it? He also wouldn’t be able to gegenpress like Bradshaw does for the full 90 so I’d imagine someone else will get a chance. I mean, I could be talking ***** and George won’t even start. Who knows
I find George beyond frustrating. He’s a talented lad who should be more than capable of being a focal point for the team in this league. Unfortunately he doesn’t have the fitness or desire to last more than 30 minutes. As you say he isn’t capable of playing as the main pressing in our style of play.
Victor more than capable of doing a job with Moore and Tom Bradshaw it seems wants away for good reasons so good luck to him. Victor to notch a couple on Saturday and Bradshaw soon forgotten
You have to plan for the full 90 minute game. It's not just about picking the best starting 11 and then see where you end up. Moncur wouldn't be able to play a pressing game for 90 minutes. Thiam is fitter than last year, but he will also run out of steam at some point. He has been subbed off later in the match regularly. Cavare apparently is a minor injury doubt, so you may have to sub him off at some point as a precaution if he gets to start. That's your three subs already allocated. Which means if you get an injury or someone unexpectedly runs out of steam (Potts has his good and bad days energy wise), you end up not being able to fully press, as you'll end up with one or more players not being able to really join in. So if another player, such as Adeboyejo, is fit enough to got at it for 90 minutes, then that may be a safer bet. So I think if/when Bradshaw is gone, Adeboyejo will initially take over his place.
Agreed. I would’ve thought the fact that he’s out of contract at the end of this season would kick him up the arse as he’s playing for a contract essentially but whether it will or not is another question.
