Strange that AFC Wimbledon's penalty shout was on there. Usually it doesn't show contentious decisions. Looks a clear hold from Lindsay though. It seems someone at the EFL media team thinks it was a pen, thankfully the ref didn't.
Not for me it wasn't their guy backed into Lyndsay first which is how he created the space, That said we have had those sort of decisions given against us and never get them ion fact we get far more blatant ones not given The one on Bradshaw in the first half - shown in the extended highlights on iFollow for example where somehow the ref adjudged Bradshaw to have committed the offence.
I've just watched the extended highlights and looked at both incidents several times, in slow motion and normal speed. Bradshaw appears to handle the ball just as it comes to him, thus diverting it past their defender. What he did next is unclear but it was hard to see any foul contact. I was furious with the ref on Saturday but I suspect he gave it hand ball against Bradders. Lindsey was lucky to get away with it. Again, in slow motion, you can see at least two offences by him (holding the shirt and then pulling him back). A championship clever forward would have hurled himself to the ground at that point and got a penalty. The Dons player was honest enough to stay on his feet, and we got away with one. The upshot of it all though was that neither team deserved to win, and the referee was weak and, occasionally, baffling in his decisions. The only good thing was that we didn't suffer the consequences of one of his errors.
It will be two years in October since we were last awarded a penalty at Oakwell , no one can tell me that none of our players have not been fouled in the box for just under two years
We didn't seem to spend that much time in the opposition's box in the last season and a half though. We should be spending a bit more time out there this season. And throw in a lower league where the other players aren't quite as savvy (like us) and we may just get one eventually!
What about when Tom Bradshaw had his shirt pulled in penalty area. Confirmed by my son watching live in Australia
I'm not disputing that looking back over the past 2 seasons I've seen some awful desisions against us, but that's a foul by Lindsay for me.
