Why would we be? They've always broadcast from the top of the table down with the exception of highlights from live games, so I'd expect us to be shown in the first few matches when we get to league one.
well that was not the case last week.... we are Barnsley ... we for some reason are the Pariah's of TV football. "Teams like Barnsley" get used to it.... we could field an England team completely from the Barnsley squad and we would still be overlooked... its that simple. The BBC, Yorkshire Post, Calendar, Look North, Radio DeeDah... the list is endless ... simply cannot do with the "Team Like Barnsley"... and the sad fact is that this goes back decades too.
Thats because in the last few decades nobody has thought to uproot oakwell and move it closer to the tv studios We are VERY well covered by radio sheffield by the way. Disproportionately so
Radio sheffield August commentary by club Sheff united 4/6 Rotherham 3/6 Sheff wed 0/6 Barnsley 4/6 Doncaster 2/6 Chesterfield 0/7
Enjoyed the coverage on Quests EFL programme last night. We were first to be shown in League One and then Colin Murray and Ian Holloway were quite complimentary on our performances thus far. I personally think that the main reason for how we are playing is down to the fact that the team are " together." By that, I mean you can sense that they all enjoy playing for Stendel and have all bought into his style of play. Even in the warm up, you can see there's some "banter" and there appears to be smiles on our players faces. They are attacking and defending together and look as though they are all exactly where they want to be. Long may it continue.
2 out of 3 are on FM, the 4th isn't confirned whether it will be FM or dab. We've always had good coverage on radio Sheffield, it's rotherham, Donny and chesterfield who were ignored
We seem to be the only game on BBC Radio Sheffield this Tuesday. So that's something I guess. I'm surprised they're not covering Doncaster as well.
I'm too lazy to go back to 2017 but from new years day to the end of last season we were full match commentary 15 times in 22 games with 8 of those being fm commentary. From new years day to the end of August (as far as radio sheffield schedules go) we have been/will be given full match commentary by radio sheffield 19 times out of 28 games with 10 of them being fm commentary. That's roughly two thirds of our matches in the second half of last season given commentary and roughly 50 percent of the commentary being fm. No change last season or this.
Not really. If it really didn't matter they would cover other teams on their FM commentary more than they do. It might only be a minor issue on its own but there are others (IMO).
But a third of our games since new years day have been on fm commentary which is significantly more than we proportionally should have
That is my biggest issue with them. I feel that they have three levels of interest: 1= Wednesday and United. 2: Us 3: The rest of the local clubs. This season Chesterfield will probably end up in a new category. We all pay the same license fee for their services but we are definitely not represented equally.
