I’m told the Bradfud match away allocation is sold out ??? There’s another 5 days until the match. There’s the potential of many more Barnsley fans wanting to go to that match. Is Bradfuds ground so small that 2300 away fans means that they have totally FILLED ALL OF THE GROUND ....... FFS !?!?!
No they have a big stadium but because they do innovative ticket deals with their pricing, the home ends soon sell out even after a few poor seasons in division three.
Last season they had an average gate, in league one, of 19,787. Almost 20k is some effort, Portsmouth was next but more than 2k lower. Think from a segregation point of view they don't have any further areas to give to us as home fans are housed in those areas. A stadium full on 4 sides with a healthy away support in 1.5 sides of it lends itself to a cracking atmosphere.....
If it's sold out already, beam it back...Can't cost that much these days. Even one to some big TV screens in the legends suite and open the bar?
I love this Wensdeh approach, even after one game. We are so massive that in all fairness the Bradford fans ought to do the decent thing and go in the away end and leave the rest of the ground for us.
I'm not entirely sure that's accurate. They were getting circa 9-10,000 season ticket holders previous. Knocking 150 quid off season ticket prices and doubling their attendances means a net effect of bugger all. It'll have improved the atmosphere no end though I'd imagine (and ill have to as I'm not back in time for the game Saturday)
No Nudger , Bradford's ground is not that small... 25K + http://www.footballgroundguide.com/leagues/england/league-one/valley-parade-bradford-city.html in fact its bigger than ours http://www.footballgroundguide.com/leagues/england/league-one/oakwell-barnsley.html and if you read the report it tells you that their away capacity is 1840... we have 2500 seats allocated. So I think that's a good effort from both clubs.
What on earth are you going on about? The stadium is bigger than ours, they average far more than we do. Much in the same way as we do, once the away tickets are gone the away end is sold out.
It’s jyst one of nudgers fishing posts again and we all fall for it . Then in a few weeks he’ll put a post about how wonderful everything Is about Barnsley FC is and everyone will be patting him on back again. Repeat
So then - Bradfud are expecting a full house of just over 25,000 this Satdi ??? OR ...... They are expecting about 20,000 - but because they haven’t the gumption to partition the ground properly there will be about 5000 empty seats at the same time as a 1000 or more Barnsley fans are sat at home because they can’t get tickets. While ...... us at TARN, although having a smaller ground capacity, have a proper c5000 capacity away end that Bradfud are unlikely to fill when they come to the WELL.
We dont have the gumption to partition our ground either. A sell out at oakwell is thousands short of its capacity
That’s cos of safety reasons - because of folk like thee running around inside the ground with half eaten tins of sweet corn - that end up on the pitch. Or similarly with a big pink peppa pig under thi jacket.
My favourite was the one who threw a shoe onto the pitch. I love the Ida of someone going home with one shoe
We've been given some of the side stand and the whole end behind the goal..... Where else could they accommodate more away fans? The main stands are full of season ticket holders who I wouldn't imagine want to move and the side stand we are in will be the same. Just because we offer more away doesn't mean they have to match it or if that was the case Fleetwood and Wimbledon would be away only when we play away against them. If we could get 20,000 a game maybe we would offer less to away fans but as it is we don't so why have a stand empty and miss out on revenue if a club has a decent following.
