well It was my Birthday last month and she did not know what to get me...... she said there was another 'Mystery' present to come but would not tell me until it arrived... well today a month after my actual birthday it has arrived. She bought me, through my nephew, a season ticket to Cardiff city, sitting next to my nephew Lee. she said she realised that it was a huge trip to Yorkshire for me and that I loved going to the football so she bought it. I am grateful for her thought and although it will never any where near like being at Oakwell I am kinda pleased by this thought from her. Apparently Cardiff City give OAP concession to the over 60's and not just to state age pensioners like many others. So it was just £309 which works out at £16 per game, that's gotta be value to watch premier league football. I am now looking forward to it, but in absolutely NO WAY will I become a Bluebird.. never ever not ever.
Well while we’re in the dragon tyke church of confessions....up to the age of 10 I was a (massive gulp)....Leeds supporter.
would have less shocked it been one of those JT... still not sure how I feel about this... but over the last 21 years of being down here I have been to watch Cardiff quite a few times with family and also work mates.. and of course in the away end when Tarn were here. On all occasions had a good experience and enjoyed. One good thing about attending their games in the home stands was that my emotions were at a lower level than when at a Barnsley match home or away. I was able to watch and enjoy the football as a neutral and see it clearer... when being a partisan you tend to get your vision a little clouded.
however Bossman I may have come up with a solution you are to go to the forests and fields and slay a thousand Bulls.... then you will go to the pleasuredomes and make love to a thousand women now that's a load of '**** and Bull' but I am sure you are up to it.
Do you know Geoff Linacre? He's a red exiled in Cardiff and gets dragged with his lad to their games. You should meet up - it would make the trip to gods country a whole lot easier. He also meets up with the Courthouse Reds for games in Wales, Bristol etc...
Up to 2009 our concessionary rate for a Senior Citizen Season pass was 60 years old. I believe if you've not lapsed in renewing every season pre- 2009 to date the Club still honour the age limit at 60, otherwise the threshold for new applicants is now over 65. Is that correct.?
I hate foooking Cardiff. But not so much now. Not when they are good enough to take Dragon away from Barnsley. Good news all round.
Cardiff? The same Cardiff whose fans taunted my 8 year old daughter in her face at Wembley? In the street when they should be celebrating not taunting little girls? This from a person who spouts anti Man United stuff, at will? Carry on.
I turned 60 3rd Sept 2007 missing 2 or 3 games at concessionary rate so had to wait for half season tickets at christmas. I had the full price season ticket from start of prem season.
Yep Yep And yep Had a similar fate with mi own lad. Never forgive them for that. Vile club. But it’s nice of them to accept Dragon.
Youve got a lad Nudger? So is he Young Young Nudger? Even Younger Nudger? Or Nudger the Third? Meant in jest
I believe thats the case as well - - just hope they keep it going for another 5 years then I will know for sure Not sure if the new regime will continue to honour it of course
Similar to me. My 9th birthday my Dad took me to Leeds vs Man City. Next week he took me to Barnsley (1974/5 season), since then been a barnsley fan. There were only 2 Barnsley fans in my class, everyone else supported Leeds or Liverpool pretty much.
Under no circumstance will I be supporting them, But I will be glad to watch Premier league football live. I hope they go back down again, but I do miss going to LIVE football.
