    Interesting press conference
I suspect there will be some activity over the next 7 days!

I've never seen anyone play their cards closer to their chest.

I got the feeling there could be a signing or two before the window closes.

Giddings asked how important it was that we had kept Tom Bradshaw. Stendel replied in German then didn't wait for the translation before he asked the next question.
Made me laugh. Just shows how much attention the interviewers pay to the questions they ask!!
I'm being harsh, he's probably just not used to asking two people a question.

If we can't get any permanent transfers in, we may still end up with a couple of loanees before the end of the month.

    Hope not
Let's invest in and bring our own players through.
Whether that be bringing in new or bringing through from the academy.
Should be both to be honest.

I do believe they have targets though.

    No one knew about Kenneth!

Currently we have no players on loan & if there is an opportunity of bringing one or two in who have a bit of quality, then it has to be worth it , lets face it last time we went up, loan players played a big part

I see no problem with loan players so long as they are worth their place. All players are temporary, even those on contracts, so what's the difference?

Thought it was interesting that Stendels assistant and temporary translator, smirked at the question of if new signings may come in. I'm almost expecting a signing to be in the building now having his medical done.

I also thought this when watching/listening to the interview.

I wouldn’t mind a couple of loan players coming in if they’re at the ability that means we wouldn’t be able to afford them on permanent transfer. For example, Barnes and McBurnie like last season.

Possibly the most uninspiring pre-season press conference ever. They mostly looked glum and totally lacking enthusiasm. Adam Davies has had a personality bypass by the sounds of him and the Germans weren’t much better. As far removed from Jurgen Klopp as you could possibly imagine. Let’s hope the product on the field is more entertaining...

Can't say I've seen many press conferences which i find inspiring. Partially due to the predictable questions asked by the press. And to be fair I'm glad he's nothing like Klopp, because i find the bloke incredibly annoying. One thing i did take away from it was Stendel's insistance upon the team focussing on our game and not the opposition's. Something which I welcome considering the cautious approach adopted last year.

What do you want? Dancing girls? Dry ice? Strobe lighting? A warm up act? Jean Michel Jarre?

Did you find it enjoyable? Genuine question , not having a go. I found it almost unwatchable. The whole thing was awkward: the phone stuck in their faces, the interviewer not knowing to whom to direct the questions, the manager not entirely comfortable, for obvious reasons, he's still learning the language, his assistant clearly and visually nervous, barely a smile raised throughout. It was painful. Once or twice Stendel did make Stern laugh, but in the translation there was no joke at all, so Stendel's personality completely failed to get through.

I hope he's a great manager, and this press conference will have no bearing on that at all, but it really wasn't a good watch.

I noticed that. Seemed like quite a heavy hint that someone is on their way out...

Personally, I thought it was all a bit meh. I didn't read anything positive or negative in it.
As far as I'm concerned, I'm happy to give Dan the time to get his footballing style across to the players and fans & certainly won't get on his back if he doesn't hit the ground running.
