Kenny Dougall Joins The Reds! Club News 25-year-old midfielder signs two-year-deal at Oakwell! Continue reading on the official site...
We must be changing our formation me things... Can't see us playing 442.. too many attcking mids.. unless we're selling..
Think we'll start with 442. Interviews with players and pre season suggested we will be playing that or 5-3-2. Can see one or two leaving.
Changing? We rarely played 442 since Conor left hecky went 451 jose 433 we need a ball winning midfielder to play 442 as a 2 of moncur mowatt or Potts would be too weak.
definately a position we needed to fill and sounds promising. Good luck to the lad and hope he does well. Feels good to get a signing, and sounds like he’s one the club have wanted a while.
I actually think you need 2 ball winners in a 442... The German coaches must see what we've got now and have seen where we lack. And where our strengths are, which is attacking mid-fielders.
So Dougall’s ‘profile’ was presented to DS as soon as he arrived st the club and then he became a priority signing. Mmmm is that not a telling statement about our Head Coach’s role in signing players?
This is the type of player most of us have been wanting. Looks very promising. I'd be expecting us to shed at least one of our existing midfielders.
With the players at our disposal now, I think a 352 would be perfect. We have at least 3 good centre halves, players suited to wingback roles, Dougall, Potts and maybe Moncur / McGheehan / Mowatt alongside them, with Bradshaw and Moore up top (if both stay). Might take a month or so to settle, but I could see us having a cracking season then.
I actually think this is cracking signing.. Good age at 25 (wont need babying) comes from playing at an excellent standed Well done too the scouts and the board for backing em .
It seems odd that a signing is holding the so-called away shirt. I hope we haven't had a sneaky colour change.
Well I think what it tells me is what we already know and have been told in how the process works for several years.
I think its pretty well understood the coach gets passed the players that have been identified to give input before approaching to sign. It's not always obvious what the prompt is for identifying a certain type of player in the first place, or, where the absolute weight of decision making lies. Logic would say coach states priorities for improvement in the squad, recruiting team identify players and showcase to coach, coach authorises approaches for targets in priority order. Yet that logic doesn't explain how on earth we signed so many number tens when our preferred formations didn't suit such a player, were loaned out, or have been binned off already. Ah well... as long as we learn and apply that learning.
Anyone else think he has a look of Jacob Burns about him? Think he’ll do well for us on the little we’ve seen.
