I really hope that if they do target women they realise that there needs to be a culture shift and that it takes time but that the payout will be worth it in the end. I hope we don't do one half-assed campaign and then brand it a failure, never to be repeated.

The club needs to appoint someone to make this happen. If we had 2000 more female supporters the atmosphere would be better.
Maybe SY Police would stop their draconian policing too. It's a win - win.

It's an interesting point you make. Our toilets are horrendous (I imagine they are actually the same or slightly better than the men's, I've never been in to compare) but I HATE using them. It's such a daft thing to think about and I'm sure most of the men think 'they are just a toilet, who cares?' but my god they are horrible. I feel terrified sitting on it and knowing the breeze blocks above are full of cobwebs and huge spiders (there's something way more vulnerable about sitting than standing). At least the walls had a brush down the other day but for ages queuing up and looking at a family of spiders sitting in the middle of the wall opposite creeped me out. One of the sets of toilets is actually nicer, and above the cubicles is sealed off rather than open to the breeze blocks high above, but it's down the other end of the stand and the queue is often bigger so I tend to use the scary ones instead.

    This really is the point.

I actually think this is the best BBS thread I've read in a while. Hope Whitey passes comments this like on to the powers that be. It is shameful about the facilities at the ground. If we don't, the "match day experience" is a load of ********, instead of a family experience. I'd like to see us have a decent women's team too.

I've always wanted the ladies team to play at oakwell on the academy pitch with free entry for all season ticket holders. Same goes for our under 23s team. When we got free entry to reserve games on the main pitch for all season ticket holders the turnout was quite high.

U23 games are free to ST holders, are they not?

I think they are but for them I meant for them to be played on the main pitch. Actually I'll be honest I hate the under 23s, it's so ad hoc in nature that it all feels pointless

I’m going to try to attend more home games this season with the vast majority being 13:00/14:00 starts so I’ll get down for game and work an hour extra before or after or take something down to the game. Seems a shame to miss it if it’s free and if we’ve got a competitive side.
