Nowhere exotic this week unfortunately, just out in the English Channel, we do most of our training south of Plymouth in an area from lands end up to about Portland
What do you do then most of the time? Just take the boat out for a spin and back in again? And yes I know its not a boat. Isn't the definition something to do with the amount of decks above sea level?
Well not very much! Watch tv, sleep, maybe have a beer ha only joking, I’m the ops room manager, I supervise everyone who fights the war in there, from preparation beforehand to execution of drills and skills etc, the captain right down to the young sailor all do something in there and I facilitate that! We are often around Britain doing PR work, or training off the south coast, we get the odd run ashore here and there but nothing like the jollies of the past, work with foreign navies all the time, anyone mithering about an EU army well it’s been happening for 50 years at sea!
Wednesday: 3pm, fish and chips from Park Road chippy. Thursday: 7pm, sweet and sour special from Jade City. Friday: 5pm, fried whitebait with baked vegetables. I'm finishing off the whitebait for my breakfast as I type...
