that are trapped, and the rescue teams.
Apparently the big effort has started to get them out before storms arrive.

My claustrophobia and hydrophobia's kicking in just thinking about it. Fingers crossed.

Someone said it would take up to 5 hours to get each one out. Seems so dangerous I really hope they make it out.

It’s an 11 hour round trip for the divers even when going alone. They’re getting them out one at a time and the first lad should be out by 2pm if all goes well.

It was one of the boy's birthday and they went on a trip up there as a treat. They'd been before but hadn't gone as far in as this time. It was dry when they set off but the weather changed whilst they were in there and the caves became flooded so they had to keep going further in to find a higher place to shelter as it was impossible to go back the way they had come in.

Edit: just seen that the coach is the weakest of them all as he has been giving his share of the food and water to the boys and has been teaching them to meditate (he's a former monk) to keep them calm and to conserve their energy. The boys' parents are saying that they are thankful to him for looking after them and don't blame him.

Their parents, siblings and friends must be frantic but I believe they are all football fans so let's hope they're all out in time to watch England beat Croatia.

A treat going into a cave must have been missing out some where.

Well, obviously it went horrendously wrong but cave exploring is a popular pastime. He wasn't even supposed to have been in charge of them that day, he was only an assistant coach for the younger team but the older main coach had an appointment that day so he asked the assistant to take them instead and to take a couple of the boys from the older team to help out. The main coach said he thought it would be a good experience for him to be in charge. They only found out they were in the caves because the main coach had loads of missed calls at 7pm when he switched his phone back on and the parents were asking where the kids were. He tried phoning the assistant and some of the kids but obviously couldn't get through until one of the lads whose mum had picked him up after training answered and said that they were planning to go to the caves (that were next to the training fields). As I said, they'd been in them before but they got caught out with the rain. The guy should have known better but he probably shouldn't have been in charge of them on his own when he was so inexperienced.

I read somewhere the other day that there were signs warning against going into the caves at this time of year.

I know people like exploring caves same as people like rock climbing, dangerous activities but you should have someone with you that knows what they are doing in case something goes wrong,I hope they all end up safe god willing.
