Spain are one of the best 2 teams in it (France the other one, as I've said in posts before yesterday).

I hope they thrash Russia today.

Russia is a complicated place. Putin is a bad man,( but there are not many good men or women in charge of most countries). I just hate the thought of them getting all jingoistic (can only Brits be jingoistic)...?

So overrated are Spain. Commentator just mentioned that Hierro will be happy. Yes they are winning but for all their boring tippy tappy rubbish, they haven't had a shot yet.

France were terrible in group stages as well. Croatia have been far & away the best side so far in this World Cup

 

Not winning anymore, fortunately! I too found it really frustrating when everyone was going on about Spain's "beautiful" tippy tappy rubbish for years. Obviously it was quite effective, but at least I always found it really boring to watch.

I also can't understand why Brazil's playing style is often described as attractive "samba football" or something... That may have been true about half a century ago, but they've played some of the most boring football for as long as I can remember... Just like watching Brazil, eh?

 

France were extremely boring to watch, but they were never in real danger during the group stage. They did what they had to do to win their group. Yesterday was the first time in this tournament when it looked like they were in trouble for a little while.
