When one of the local newspaper's are too incompetent to spell it correctly. Pathetic journalism. https://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/foo...-strendel-is-worth-the-wait-to-reds-1-9202257
How can anyone struggle with a simple name like STENDEL? That's like saying, for example, I loved those players we got from Middlesbrough: Craig WIGNETT, Paul PILKINSON and Super John BENDRIE.
Their job is that of a journalist. Using the written word to create and report. That is a shambolic piece of work. If I was a tyre fitter and put Fred the greengrocer's carrots on cars instead of tyres I would be down the road.
Still no excuse for a basic inability to get simple facts correct in an article, such as the name of the subject of the article. Also, it goes out under The Star's logo on its website, so by implication they're happy to be associated with it. Presumably there's some sort of editor who has overall responsibility for the content put out on the site?
If not, then it implies that the freelance journos can upload content to the site without any sort of review/oversight. It would explain the shoddy article, but there'd be all sorts of potential issues for the organisation from this.
Down the years the Star and the Green 'Un in particular were renowned for their printing errors. Best one ever was a report on a Wednesday, Man Utd game in the 60's, when it said " Charlton tried a **** from 30 yards but made a mess of it."
It was inevitable the Green 'Un would have mistakes, as it was rushed out and delivered to newsagents within an hour of the games finishing on a Saturday.
