Cryne will have got more than the £6m he has been reported to have put in to the club which I understand were loans. It was reported that £20m was paid by the consortium and the Cryne Family still own a 5th of the Club. So the Cryne Family will still have a £5m share in the Club plus half the land value. A 0.17 acre plot at Mapplewell is on the market for £110k. As I understand it a developer pays 1/3rd of the house value for land,1/3 to build the property with 1/3 potential profit margin. These were figures lifted off an estate agents site. I would think the land is worth more than the Club. I have just done a rough check on how much land the club sits on using Google Earth Pro. Using the visible boundaries it comes out at just over 26 acres. Not 100% accurate but a good enough guide. it looks to me as if Mr Cryne made a good investment..
And what about the Mick McCarthy penalty spot paint, and the Stuart Gray corner and touchline flags ?.
If only everything throughout the ground could be attributed to a sold player.... hours of entertainment to be had
I hope the Cryne family took whatever money was made from transfers. Im hoping they came out with a bit of money or at least they didn’t lose much money. If there’s £30 million sat in the bank - it’s not much money to these new owners is it - when they have a combined wealth of £15 Billion.
