Ha ha!. Not my recollection. I would kill to have that Barnsley side to watch again this coming season.
I can't take your post seriously when you put Flicker at no. 4. Great tub thumper but zero capability as an actual manager.
between January 2013-May 2013 it was the best times as a supporter and it was an amazing achievement to stay up when we were dead & buried especially considering we needed about 55 points
I guess you like losing at home every other week and being unable to compete in that division. Robins built from the back first but we played great football and had some thrilling games in his tenure the 2 against Leeds springing to mind.
Like I said - fantastic tub thumper. We just went gung ho every game. But it doesn't make him a good manager. He is in fact a ***** manager - He couldn't get close to getting Bury out of L1 when he had a budget most clubs in that league could only dream of.
He got bury from bottom of League 2 into League 1 within a season or two the man knows how to get a team going!!
I like being awake at the football. In 40 years of support Robins was the only one who made me seriously thought about jacking in going to Oakwell. Though if Lee Johnson hadn’t gone I suspect he would have finished me off.
He was great for half a season would of rather have him over jose this time round sometimes you need that chest pumping **** what gets the players going instead of Paul depressingbottom or clueless jose.
Well Sevilla have just appointed Machin as manager well Sevilla have just appointed Machin as manager!!
I'd go:- 1.Bassett 2.Lee Johnson 3.Ritchie 4.Robins 5.Davey 6.Hill 7.Flicker 8.Hecky 9. Morais It has to be noted that Bassett was the last manager to have a very competitive budget for the Championship . but still it was great to watch and the team had a real spirit a-la 1996/7 and was the last time I remember going to games expecting us to win at that level.
The best results, the best league positions, the best stats you name it Robins is clearly the most capable manager we've had in the past 15 or so years. I like seeing my club progress and achieve success and we were certainly building that until Robins left.
I disagree. So many games were really enjoyable to watch under him. When we won at Cardiff 2-0, when we beat Forest 3-1 at home, when we beat PNE in the last minute.
Getting to the semi final under Davey was a much more exciting ride. The half seasons under Flitcrodt and Hill. The January to January under Heckingbottom were miles better. Bassett is easily the best manager this century. Robins is not the worst by quite some way as Spackman, Parkin and Johnson have that sown up but just dull dull dull We were building nowt under Robins expensive short term loans and old stagers May keep you up they don’t build anything.
