Anyone seen the fixing documentary? Looks like we could have a few rotten apples, allegedly. Greed in modern society knows no bounds.
The ICC have repeatedly asked for evidence from the documentary makers and received none. It could explain why some of our players played so poorly in the recent test match, if they didn't have their minds on the job.
Fairly sure they said they would hand it over and the evidence on the footage was pretty indisputable. If they weren’t going to hand it over I’m sure they would have left the names on the audio. As for the poor test match our record under Bayliss in tests is garbage so the results not really a shock.
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/20...team-denies-claims-match-fixing-test-against/ First I had known about it. I can't see any of our players being dodgy no matter how bad our test side is.
Can I ask what evidence they showed in the documentary? I’ve not seen it. Assume they had the English players on camera agreeing to take bribes to spot fix? Or was it audio recordings of them agreeing to it? Surely one of those two at least. And then assume the documentary makers could show the money trail evidencing the corruption taking place? Photos of the cash being handed over, or details of the wire transactions?
The evidence was the naming of players pre match who would score a certain number of runs in a session if the fix was on. The fix was on given a signal and the runs were scored to order. There wasn’t just england cricketers involved it was just the most noteworthy considering. I’d say this was the start of the story and certainly not anywhere close to the end.
Cheers. So how do they show the recording suggesting the “fix was on” being before the test match? Intrigued to know. Was it undercover reporting? What was the signal to say the fix was on? May have to watch it. What Chanel was it
Video pre match. Then audio during the match. Suggested various signals and didnt show the full footage as it’s being passed on to the ICC, but it was analysed by a couple of people. The documentary is on youtube done as an undercover sting by Al Jazeera.
Anyone can Edit a documentary in a certain way. But unless these guys were playing the undercover journalists somehow it doesn’t look good
I don't think Root should be playing down the documentary like he has been. Thing is this sort of thing will always happen, because lifetime bans don't get handed out like they should. Guys will risk it knowing in a few years they can come back like guys such as Mohammed Amir have.
The pitch fixing at Galle is the area of interest for me. The rest of the documentary seems to be based on hear say evidence. Until Aljazeera hand over what they have to the ICC it's a non story. Like previously said any footage can be cut to make it look sensationalist.
Similar to the football one a while back with the programme gonna uncover a massive fraud but yet only Allerdice and Tommy Wright were punished if that’s the right word for allerdyce
I've just extracted the entire scorecard into excel and am currently sifting through the stats trying to work out if this might have happened (because im boring and not out drinking!) and if so who might have been involved. Can someone help me with a question though.... Is the '10 over bracket scoring' from the bookies always between each 10 over block starting from the first over (1-10,11-20 etc.), or can it be any 10 overs in the innings starting from any over you like?
Any over you like. Which is why the job is much more difficult but would assume your analysis only needs to look at the first innings.
Listing the overs with the runs with a moving average would be the easiest if you can be bothered. To confirm the section the final over went for 2 or less.
That's what I thought, but this article (about Australia) suggests that's not the case... is this wrong then? Cheers Edit: I know next to nothing about betting
Would make life easier but always assumed they did in play running blocks of overs i.e 2-11 if you miss the first. Maybe start in blocks of ten and see if any of them fit the requirement?
Yeah, ive watched the video but it's not specifically stated if it's 10 overs in a fixed block, or fluent. I suspect it's the later. Nearly done so Ill post back in a bit.
