For those of you on Twitter I wonder if you could take some fine to tweet BFC about the rise in cost for disabled supporters. We have pretty poor access anyway and have now massively hiked prices. Whilst we all may disagree about many things. This isn’t right.
That's a huge mistake and needs the fans to raise this issue with the club. All football clubs should be more inclusive, the increase in price is unacceptable. Makes us look uncaring and insensitive. This will not play well with the general public.
Just taken our lass to 2 games iñ Germany...both teams getting promoted to top flight. Wheelchair seçtion...one 13 euro other 5 euro. Season ticket for top division football next season at Dusseldorf 192 euro.
£120 rise for a disabled fann to watch a team relegated to League One hints that our new owners actually care more about profit than we all hoped. On top of releasing Adam it is another step away from the Barnsley FC we all love and into the jungle that is modern day football.
It’s all about internationalising the club though. And if you disagree, and believe a club should be for the community it it based in, then you’re xenophobic. If you would rather it was self financing rather than chasing premiership dreams then you have no ambition. That’s what I get accused of anyway. Still - let’s wait and see what the new owners do. So far they’ve not had long. All they have had a chance to do is appoint one manager (Morais), Let Hammill go for free, and now seemingly target the disabled supporters for price increases. Sure they’ll turn it around. Perhaps get more sponsorship money in from China or America.
What she doesn't mention though is that price includes a free helpers ticket. Split the price with the helper and it's very cheap.
Very disappointing. This needs addressing. I don't use twitter, but would be happy to sign a petition.
So do the prices I have quoted. The most expensive I have seen over there are 15 euro. Munich season tickets are free if you can get one. Most clubs base the price on the cheapest ticket or less. Over here we are just another money making opportunity.
120 rise split between two people so she can't afford an extra 2.60 a game and wants to bash the club about it. It will be supply and demand. If we have a long waiting list for the few disabled places we have, the club will feel they can justify a tiny increase.
But lots of clubs don't make any money. The prices you quote are probably cheaper than league two in this country, but most of those league two clubs are just surviving. The German clubs surely aren't making a loss for the sake of keeping the fans happy? It's a similar argument to the one about cheap season tickets at Bradford and Huddersfield. If it was a guaranteed winner we would all be doing it, but it's not.
They will make a loss in some as a space is free for a helper in the more expensive seated sector...30 euro plus .
Independent disabled people don’t have helpers. Many helpers go with several people. That’s a very poor argument.
If you want to knock a petition together. Get in touch with "level playing field". As mentioned before, my mate is ambulant disabled and his biggest problem is being promised a headset and getting to the games to find none available or the ones they have available have not been charged since the last use. At least the sighted disabled actually see a game. My mate and a few others are screwed without match commentary - and Oakwell has been as bad as others.
