So the Pub league so soon ..its still raw...Relegation so hard to take it leaves a bitter taste and a heavy heart

so ....Taking into account that the lads were out of their depth in the championship this season, and that most were recruited based on the stats at a lower level ,that highlighted their strengths

do you therefore feel that with the right bloke at the helm we could see a season whereby we have something to cheer about and dare i say a quick return to the championship , ( mind you if the right guy had been recruited in the first place after he who shall not be named jumped ship to the trash bin of football )
Then we might not have been back in the pub league admittedly )

So if a quick return is to be had ....then with the momentum of a promotion which could possibly see us challenging for a top six place in two seasons time ....one lives in hope

whilst i dont think we will have it all our own way in the pub league i would expect if i was the new owners id want to be pushing for that quick return

Hence the new regime who take over team affairs needs not only to know their way around but also someone who the fans will take to straight away ..giving the club a boost and if i dare say a statement of intent

. i also "believe" ( oh how this word as been devalued ) that we dont really need that many new recruits given the players we have on the books.

A few older heads with experience to steady the ship who arent afraid of putting a foot in were it hurts
    ..we live in hope

Davis with Laser surgery will now be like Steve Austin ..A stealth machine ...his eyes so able to pick up the flight of the ball ...gauging wind speed ...the calibration of air pressure against moisture that surrounds the flight of the ball as the said air circulates in flight..moving swiftly to counteract the resistance of downward and upward friction ..whilst sitting on the bench watching Walton in the number one jersey ...lol

    What are your thoughts guys

    debate at will

Well i want someone with English experience be it a foreigner like rosler or bowyer phil brown etc someone straight forward no nonsense type. Id like a competitive squad of 18 to 20 or so not 35 like we have had for last six years or so.

Get luke steele in nets and Walton back up. Someone like shackell or beevers to Marshall pinnock jackson lindsey. Id go 5 3 2 with a decent left back i still think McCarthy work in progress at age22 at rb.
I like potts in midfield i think his build height age his useful mcgeehan needs a look at. Moncur last chance upto January. Isgrove last chance upto january. Keep hammill moore. Adebayjo etc. Invest in five at least experience.

I think, admittedly it’s very early to be making any sort of predictions really, next season will be a transition season for us.

We need to replace the losing mentality that we have picked up this season and turn it into a winning one. Hopefully, if we can get off to a good start, that can be done fairly quickly.

It will also be a mass turnaround in playing staff with loan players going back and out of contract players leaving. How many of the starting 11 at Derby will be here next season? I would guess at probably 5. Although I guess some can come in from the squad.

It’s certainly going to be a busy summer but hopefully a successful one. Let’s get that feel good factor at the club again like during the second half of the league 1 season and first half of the championship season in 2016.

Someone with knowledge about league1 and knowledge about the players we already have would be an advantage. Someone who could realistically hit the ground running. Well, that’s a start anyway.

Just looking at some of the clubs in league one with us.

Obviously Sunderland are the big fish, and as already mentioned, if they get themselves sorted and off to a good start they'll take some stopping.

Bradford are very similar to us, with the wealthy owners but with better support.

Plymouth just missed out on the playoffs this time and Portsmouth are growing in strength each season.

3 of the 4 teams currently in the playoffs will still be there as well, and there is always the dark horse or a team that has the momentum from league 2.

It's not going to be easy.

Mark Warburton / Rossler appeals. No more left field overseas managers please. Love Macca, but not for the Reds.

Whoever we get won’t please everybody . Prefer a younger upcoming boss as we have become stale to watch last 18 months or so

You're right it's not going to be easy but look at Rotherham as a benchmark. Absolutely appalling in this division 12 months ago finishing with 15 points less than us (26 in total). Paul Warne kept some of the squad and brought in new some new faces, he's changed their mentality completely and they've ended up with 79 points and fourth place. To me that division is pretty poor and I'd be extremely disappointed if we don't make the top 6 next season.
If Sunderland do manage to get their act together at long last they could win the league title at a canter but a lot of teams will go up there and try to make it difficult for them...

Warburton left Rangers in controversial circumstances and was sacked at Nottingham Forest despite not being in charge long. TBF he did a good job at Brentford and I may be wrong here but I understand he quit because he didn't want to work with their own policy of the 'spreadsheet' so on that basis I can't see him coming here. I'd be looking at Paul Hurst if Shrewsbury fail in the play offs or alternatively Gary Bowyer at Blackpool.

That's exactly what happened to us the first time we went down as well. Lots of teams just came to park the bus.

Teams parking the bus against us and seeing a point as a good result doesn't happen too often :D League One looks dreadful so if the new man doesn't at least get us into the play offs, I can see them being fired.

Agree about steele, but if potts is in our first choice starting 11 then wev failed miserably again with recruitment. Not good enough.
