I don't think they would be allowed would they? It's why we can't normally watch it unless we are abroad. I'm guessing a beamback is subjected to different rules.
Dunno, I'm not party to the contract details. But from the clubs perspective surely it's a more cost effective and risk free way of doing it though.
Ohhh yes When the players and away coaches get back from the victory we could all have a big Oakwell party. Weather looks good and it would still be light for a few hours and then move it to somewhere in the town centre like what's happened before.
It's contractually not possible because of UK TV rights deals with Sky and the Football League and things like that. It's not a decision the club can make, unfortunately.
I'd be up for that, not sure about tv rights etc but they did it two seasons ago for the second leg against Walsall, two big screens in front of the Ponty.
I think he's talking about streaming the game live on iFollow which would have rights issues. I have no idea how they get round the beam-back situation but there must be a way. I hope it happens because I would certainly make the trip from Harrogate.
Not sure how it would work with licensing. Any live broadcasts are for the non-U.K. market. However, it’s a bit late in the day and also a Bank Holiday weekend - so numbers might not make it worth it. Playoff games were on Sky, so that’s easy to sort out as technically the club have a commercial license for Sky Sports anyway so they wouldn’t need further licenses.
There is a Media company just down the road from Oakwell at Hoyle Mill. They park their Trucks with the big screens on the hill opposite the Speed camera. Passed today and there must’ve been at least 6 there.
Hmm GREAT STUFF BFC! Looking forward to that and I hope that Matt’s commentary is in synch with the big screen action. Will take my ear buds just in case.
