I am asking not from the point of view of having any inside knowledge on the subject but purely as a rhetorical question based on it being a strong possibility if we sell out of the tickets allocated. Obviously those tickets would have to go quickly enough to organise the big screen booking and get the event publicised. I'm not going to Derby but I would most certainly be interested in a small admission fee (say, for example, a fiver a head) to watch the match on a big screen at Oakwell. Clearly the club are not going to do this and lose money on the venture so, the question is, who would be interested? Add your thoughts below this and I am sure that the club will take note of our wishes and set it up (or not!). For the many thousands of us who are not going to Derby, for whatever reason, this could be a great way to end the season. Last Saturday was close to that feeling we all had at the Walsall play off home leg two years ago. It would be nice to have some more of that next Sunday. Big YES PLEASE from me - what about anyone else?
Nope. I will be disappearing somewhere with no phone signal at 12.15 and will only re-emerge at 2.30.
Wonderful idea. As well as all the fivers they made, they would sell a lot of food and drink and could even try and get some matchday programmes delivered.
Couldn't say but I can't imagine our new owners would allow themselves to be embarrassed like that! I'm imagining big cinema style screen on the pitch in front of the Ponty End, or East Stand? Obviously I don't know the details but it would surely be something to make it worth while turning out for.
Definitely got to be worth it commercially. Maybe even if the club made a slight loss on the day it would be a good bit of PR.
Admission fee and 12 inch pizza from the pizza van for a tenner in a special deal Full time tell people they can hang around open the legends suite for all, keep the stand catering open so beers can be sold at full time.
Excellent suggestions. They want to improve the match day experience, or so they said. Good opportunity to try that out.
If its a sell out couldn't they make it officially available on ifollow as its such an important game?
Good point NYR and that would suit me fine as I am a subscriber, and like you, would need to travel some distance to get there. On the other hand I suppose the feeling is that a few thousand fans (mostly locally based) would happily turn out at Oakwell one last time this season to lap up the carnival atmosphere when we thump Derby 4-0
They had beam back from Anfield when we won there in the cup & to be fair the screen wasn"t that big but it was watchable plus with Brian Howard popping the winner in it made the occasion very enjoyable . People who think it would be a little money spinner for the club might be mistaken, as I believe it is quite an expensive exercise , however , if we sell out our allocation there might be sufficient interest , I certainly would consider attending
