That’s no surprise. If a nuke WW3 really broke out it would take 100’s of warheads to wipe out the UK. Your standard UK/US nuke, if landing in the centre of Sheffield, would only take out up to Thorpe Hensley. Long term fallout would be summat else though. http://nuclearsecrecy.com/nukemap/

In the 70's & 80's the Soviets targeted South Yorkshire to remove the coal and steel industries, which were key to the country surviving any sort of conventional ground war. If they targeted it now, they'd be taking out a few warehouses and meadowhall.
