I honestly don't think us getting involved militarily is the answer. There has been a cold war going on for years, with Russia, Iran & Syria opposed to the USA, Saudi Arabia, etc Obama tried to reduce Iranian involvement via the nuclear deal, but Trump has other ideas. If there is military intervention, let the USA do it. nothing will end the suffering of the poor Syrians, who are merely caught in the middle of it & I'm pretty sure nothing will stop Putin & Trump doing what they want to do. Very sad situation. Very similar thing happening in Yemen too.
Listen to Blair. Then do the opposite. A good politician on home affairs not the faintest clue on foreign affairs.
What you are spectacularly missing is that the MPs and the 24,000 members of public voted the way they did based on the information they had been given by the countries prime minister. Information that they had no reason to believe was false. Tony Blair lied to the mps, lied to the public and even lied to the investigation into his behaviour. He knew the facts and misrepresented them to justify his illegal war. That's not a case of 'isnt hindsight wonderful' it's a case of 'when people are lied to they think differently than they do when they find out the truth'
All i care to know is that saddam used chemicals to kill the kurds in the north. Assad has and is sanctioning the same thing in syria. **** blair, putin, trump and whoever: it needs sorting regardless.
Except that the relevant information was placed in the House of Commons library and MP's had two full debates to decide whether they came to the same conclusions that Tony Blair did. By an overwhelming margin, they did. We now know his conclusions were wrong, but I would respectfully disagree with you that he lied about the matter. He had no reason to know that his conclusions were wrong, and every reason to believe that they were right, principally, Saddam's past record of genocide.
https://www.apnews.com/bd533182b7f244a4b771c73a0b601ec5 Here you go . This is from the previous gas attack . Turns out general Matti's couldnt find any evidence linking the attack to Syria . Same goes for the attack before that . But of course the daily mail won't report this type of news . Maybe it's Isis , or Al nusra ? Plenty of bad people in Syria who would nt hesitate at this type of attack hoping to drag the US into preceding s .
Tony Blair has got lots of things wrong, BUT those errors should not overshadow what he and Mo Mowlem did to end the 'troubles' in NI and bring about, to date, a lasting peace. John Major tried with limited success and Thatcher toyed with the idea and failed miserably.
Its all a complete load of rubbish. Russia are not the enemy, neither is Assad. Russia called the United States' bluff in Syria when they offered to help defeat ISIS as ISIS are really a proxy US force sent into countries to destabilise them in order for the US to go in there and restore order, namely, THEIR order. The US never expected Russia to step in and help due to the tensions between them but they did, hence all the "russia-bashing" which we have been subjected to for the last 2/3 years. Like this agent that was poisoned. Seems a little bit contrived. Would be childs play for the UK security services to poison this guy and say it was the Russians then have wall-to-wall media coverage of it for weeks. To summarise, Russia are not the enemy. Its the greedy, loathsome billionaire string-pullers of both the US and the UK who really run the show, all politics is just a Punch & Judy show to give us idiot masses the illusion of choice.
Quite amusing how deluded Blair is. Why on earth does he think people will listen to him? And these bloodthirsty neocons seem to be pushing for WW3.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...on-Syria-says-Secretary-State-John-Kerry.html This happened after the first gas attack , barracks red line in the sand if you can remember . Sorry for the publication but there s clips on YouTube if you wish to hear it from the horses mouth . Of course parliament/the senate voted against military action thank god . Let the Saudis take on Syria/Russia/Iran , not British/allied troops .
I wasn't going to post in this thread but after reading this load of rubbish I just had to. Have you done any research on ISIS? You really should listen to people who know what they're on about, people like Maajid Nawaz who walked the path of extremism and have returned. Anybody who believes that ISIS are there on behalf of the US to destabilise a country really does need to give themselves a good shake. It's sad to think that for whatever reason there are people in this country, born and bred, that prefer to believe anybody other than their own country. I don't know if it's a reflection on the state of the country or a reflection on the individual themselves. I really give up.
Jump down from up your own arse for two minutes and you might learn something. I have done more research on the topic of ISIS and its origins than I dare say anyone on this message board has, combined. What makes you so world wise? What research have you done? Apart from listening to the totally controlled ***** that Maajid Nawaz spouts. It just shows how daft people like YOU are to buy into the crap that he says because "he must know what he is on about because he has a brown face and a funny sounding name" and his words are coming out of my magic talky talky box. So infuriating. Do you like war? No I didnt think so. Well guess what, neither do Russia, or Assad. The only people trapsing all over the world dishing out death are the United States and us, hiding behind their coat tails shouting "YEAH, WHAT THEY SAID". name me another country with over 170 military bases on foreign soil....I'll wait. Why is it "the wests" job to go around being the global policemen? Trying to impose our "democracy" on other nations? ISIS formerly known as Al-Qaeda formerly known as the Taliban was set up initially in Afghanistan by the CIA to fight the Russians to give them "their Vietnam". Since that conflict the US has been using the Taliban/Al-Qaeda/ISIS to infiltrate and ultimately destabilise nations as a proxy US force. End of. Keep watching the BBC, until your door gets booted off by soldiers who are only there to save you.
Sabre - tooith, theres a lot of ex-army that have been brain washed on here and always think the right wing is the best position, for me anyone who wants to bomb some poor ******* wants to go and have a brain scan to see if they are a zombie or not.
I wasn't up my own arse, just pointing out that you were talking from yours. You appear to be quoting directly from the conspiracy theorists Bible which is not based in any fact whatsoever - the BBC for all its faults is a little more reliable. I know enough about ISIS to know that they are not a US proxy force sent around the world to destabilise regions that the US want to change - to claim they are is ridiculous. I know about their links to Al Qaeda in Iraq formed by al Zarqawi from a group known as Tawhid wal-Jihad. Do I like war? No, does anyone? But sometimes military action is a necessity and seeing the pictures of those children in Syria make it difficult to say that it should be ruled out as an option. You seem to have an issue with the west in general but living in a free country affords you that option. I don't have an issue with you holding your opinion, I just don't agree and I think you are completely wrong.
