    Last year's price £295
    Renewal price £476
Called them and there's nothing they can do, no way to reduce it
Went on compare the market and filled in the forms using the data from my renewal letter. Cheapest quote available £302 from the same ******* company

Makes your balls itch doesn't it. Happens every year. How it usually works is

    High renewal quote
    Get comparison quotes
Ring company and they match or better it.

I had the same as you a couple of years ago where the best comparison was the same company. So I rung them up and they said "OK Sir, we can match it". To which my response was "What do you mean you can match it, its your ******* quote" !!

There will be one minor difference on something you've input on the price comparison site compared to the one you currently have. That's what they told me when I was renewing and had the same situation a few years ago. It was something like "you've put on your online quote that you only drive 5,000 miles a year when on our records you've said 6,000".

Nope, it is identical. The person on the phone even checked it as they can see the new quote that's generated. He told me it happens a lot and that the best thing to do is to cancel my renewal and sign up with the new quote which I did on the same call. Strange sydtem
