Bang average club manager. Gareth Bale made him look good at international level.

Not solely his fault - stench of despair around Sunderland for a few years now. Real poisoned chalice for a manager

Hope they continue as they are. It's one less relegation place we can fill

I don't think it matters who is in charge up there as they will struggle to keep them up this season. Was having a look on their main forum earlier this evening and it's particularly toxic towards owner Ellis Short and also a number of players who clearly don't want to be there. They were also saying the Brenford management team were laughing during the 1st half today as they probably couldnt believe how easy it was (2-0 at half time but could have been a lot more). I reckon Coleman will be regretting taking the job now, certainly be interesting to see if he stays if they do go down.

Still unsure why he took the Sunderland job. Would have ended up at a better club had he bided his time. Got sucked into the big club mentality rather than football club in a big mess.

An average manager who has gained a very good reputation for excellent work with a good group of Welsh players.

There's something poisonously wrong at Sunderland. For Coleman to choose them whilst his stock was so high is strange. They'll have some great away days in league one and probably follow Southampton and Leicester in returning re-energised in a year or two.

I remember us playing Sunderland at home when they were doing well in the Championship. Think they beat us 3-0, Kevin Philips was their darling at the time.

Their fans were all over the place, and as my mate and me were walking from the station minding our own business, one of them jumped at me, was right in my face, arms out and mouthing something but not really making any noise. I told him to do one and his mate dragged him off.

Few years later I read a story about a poor deaf and dumb Sunderland fan that had been picked on by other fans and how awful it was. There was a pic, and it was him. I had to smile, he'd probably got away with it for long enough.

I often think of him, and their willy waving fans all over Barnsley and how **** they are now. It's quite funny really. Same goes for yoyocastle

I remember when they beat us 1-3 near the end of 1998-99 Fitz, which was also near the end of John Hendrie's time as our manager as well.
Kev Phillips was a quality striker for them especially at this level, even going back to his days in the mid 90's at Watford.

Wow they really are in meltdown, they probably all expected to be at the top end of the table this season.
