I’ve got a badge that gives discount at No7 and the Arcade but I wasn’t aware there was a match Day Drinkers Club as such
If it's the same kid I'm thinking of, he's on the background photo at the bottom of this page, of our fans at Villa last season.
Blokes clueless. Every Saturday he’s moaning on twitter. Yesterday he was criticising Harsley for taking off a knackered McBurnie & an Isgrove who wasn’t fully fit.
To be fair quite a large number of our fan base were moaning about the same thing on several different media outlets, despite it being quite clear that both had run themselves into the ground. Its part of the reason I've been trying a social media blackout for the last couple of weeks.
Do the people at the club think that all football fans just get drunk? I think that if the board want to consult a cross section of our fanbase and get a bit of valuable feedback, they could do a lot worse than just reading this forum. Of course there is silliness and the odd agenda being pushed on here, but I genuinely think that there are some great debates on here and a wealth of experience in watching the reds.
John Lennon must be turning in his grave. "Keep you doped with religion and sex and TV..." I reckon he'd have included social media in his lyrics if he was writing "Working Class Hero" today.
I agree in general but with him it’s different. He’s at it every weekend. Acting like after a day on the beer he’s more knowledgable than professional managers & coaches. I’ve no issue with folk having a day on the beer at the match I do it myself at away games 4-5 times a season but when you’ve had plenty of booze you don’t get on social media acting like you know better than everyone else. No one will convince me that anyone can give anything close to an accurate account of what’s happened at the match after more than a couple of pints
But not many were slagging harsley off by saying he was trying not to win, or saying 'at least that that takes harsley out of the equation' I think people should be made to post how pissed they were at matches alongside every post they make about the match. But then I also think it's probably not appropriate for club owners and chairman to be doing meet and greets with pissed up fans in pubs before said fans somehow drag themselves to oakwell to break the law. This goes for new owners, old owners, new chief exec, old ones, owners of other clubs etc. If you want to meet fans then try walking around the stadium instead. Plenty of people are there spending money
