West Ham crisis: Tony Henry suspended after report over African players https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...-tony-henry-racism-claim-sign-african-players
Seems to me that he's had bad experiences with African players, and would prefer not to sign them. Can't see a major problem with that myself.
Really? You can't see a problem with him blaming all African players on the bad experience he may have had? Every person is different.
Come off it. You cant say you dont want to employ anyone from africa again because some have been bad employees. Its like saying you refuse to employ any black people because youve had a few bad experiences or you refuse to employ women because some have gone off on maternity.
I didn't say that, and maybe he didn't either. If his experience with some African footballers is that they are more disruptive than others, and he would prefer to look elsewhere for new players, then that's understandable to me. Maybe he will still run the rule over African footballers, but do more research into their personalities prior to signing them, because of his experience?
It's odd there didn't seem to be the same amount of people offended when the Welsh FA representative said they would not employ an English manager. If racism is to be socially unacceptable, then all forms of racial discrimination should be banned.
Quote: "We don't want ANY more Africans" Reason: "We find that when THEY are not in the team they cause mayhem."
You're still not getting it. Sure, look in to player's personalities - everyone's personalties - but not just African players purely because they are African.
I didn't see that news but that is also ridiculous. Your last sentence is so obvious it shouldn't even need to be said.
Maybe you should actually read the article properly before having a go at me. Perhaps you both think I'm a racist? There is no talk of "blame" or "refusing to employ" any African players in that article. You guys really need to get off your high horses.
It was about a month ago. Initially the Welsh FA said they were going to have an enquiry into his comments. Then a few days later they backtracked and it was quickly swept under the carpet.
Can't you see that that comment is racist .. ? As for the West ham HoPR, if he said what has been claimed then its fkd up.. not sure if it would be classed as racist ...
'Henry is thought to have written that West Ham did not want any more Africans in their squad.' 'A report in the Daily Mail alleged that Tony Henry told an agent West Ham wanted to limit the number of African players in their squad. He told the paper this was because some “have a bad attitude” and “cause mayhem” when they are not in the team.' He is specifically not wanting a player because they are African. They could be the best footballer on the planet and the nicest guy you could ever meet but purely because they're African he doesn't want them. And you can't see a major problem with that.
I wonder if Barnsley are considering not trying to employ any more French based players. Who would blame them after the past week. But would that be racist or a calculated response to recent experience. It's a fine line.
Not really. World's gone mad with sensitivity. I heard someone was racially abusing Yiadom at match recently. Now if people want a cause, they should be finding out who it was and giving him a knock. Blokes said something based on his experience, and probably a very expensive one, bearing in mind it's professional football in the prem, and everyone wants to drag him though the streets.
Exactly mate. Had hecky said "those french players are a nightmare, so we won't be going down that route again" would anyone have given a second thought to it? I doubt it very much.
I had a bad experience with a Norwegian on holiday in Spain (or Greece i cant remember) quite a few years ago. Then there's Anders Breivik! Should have written them all off really shouldnt i
