Just checked the BBC transfers page and a Ctrl-F revealed 12 mentions of Barnsley. Ins - McB, Mills, CK, Mahoney, Pinillo and Moore. Outs - Brown, MacD, DMH, Bird, Kay and McGeehan I wouldn't be surprised to see all of those temporary outgoings made permanent in the summer
Really? I would. The young lads I feel are simply getting game time. I'm pretty sure DMH and Brown have only just signed contract extensions too?
Not so sure they will all be made permanent - I expect at least Brown and DMH are out to play football in the hope they will be first team ready next season possibly McGeehan as well. I will be disappointed if at least one of those 3 isnt in our first team squad regularly next season
From what I've seen in their rare opportunities, friendlies and youth matches 2 out of those 3 are already better than loaners weve played regularly in the last couple of seasons
Hmmm, ok. To be pedantic though, Ugbo and Barnes were never our players so they don't feature on the BBC list of ins and outs. I had forgotten about Walton going to Stalybridge, and the BBC didn't think it was worth a mention.
It's not really being pedantic. We had those players at the start of the window and now don't. To ignore those because loan players don't count then surely you can't count mcburnie or Mahoney. 7 out 4 in?
Sheeshh! All I meant was that the BBC didn't list them because they were not our players to lose. I COULD have added them to my list, of course.....but I didn't.
I'd be surprised if any of them were made permanent. Bird, Brown and Mottley-Henry all signed new deals in the run up to January. I think McGeehan is somebody we hold in high regard. He needs the games to recover from his injury properly, and he wasn't going to get that consistently with us.
Depends where we are in the summer I suppose. If we are still in this league (which we will be) then they might be sold if the money is right. None of us know how this takeover scenario is going to pan out and we might find ourselves catapulted into a higher sphere than the one we are in right now. In that case there will be no future for young talents like those mentioned above in our "Brave New World".
