It would be really great to get a good turnout for people to pay their respects to Patrick on Saturday and to cheer the team on to 3 points in his memory.

The club have announced the following tributes:

Following the sad news earlier this week that Mr Cryne had passed away, the Club can now confirm that the following tributes will take place this weekend ahead of the Sky Bet Championship match with Fulham at Oakwell.

There will be a minutes silence observed before the match, which will begin and end on the sounding of the referee’s whistle. We ask all fans to stand together and observe the silence respectfully.

The players will be wearing black armbands throughout the match as a mark of respect to Mr Cryne and his family.

A book of condolence will be available for fans to sign and leave messages in from Saturday [27th] morning, which is located in the Club Shop at Oakwell. This will be passed on to the Cryne family at a suitable opportunity when all fans have had an opportunity to leave their tributes.

Flowers and messages have already been left at Oakwell under the memorial wall at the South Stand, the Club are happy for fans to continue with this, allowing everybody to pay their respects.

BE RED has been dedicated to Patrick Cryne this weekend against Fulham, with a special edition front cover and tributes inside the programme, from social media posts including former players, fans and members of the wider footballing community.

The Club will be speaking to as many people as possible over the coming weeks and will bring an extended page number, special edition of BE RED out for the next home match with Sheffield Wednesday, where fans will be able to read the in depth thoughts and interviews with as many former players, members of staff and board members of Barnsley Football Club as possible about the influence Patrick Cryne had on them.

All of the revenue gained from the special edition programme will be donated to the Christie NHS Foundation Trust in Manchester. Corporate Fundraising Manager at The Christie charity, Danielle Carney said: “We are so grateful that at this very sad time Patrick Cryne’s family have made this hugely generous gesture and everyone here at The Christie charity thanks them and the club very much. All donations, whether big or small, make such a difference to patients and their families and take us a step closer to a future free of cancer.”

The Cryne family would like to thank everybody who has sent messages of support to them, whether this has been in person, through social media or by letters sent to the Club.

I will see in the morning when she wakes up. She normally meets me in the Hoyle Mill inn so she’s doesn’t have to battle traffic as it makes her well grumpy which is not uphill but might be too far for you.

You can but think it's cheaper if you buy now online and pick it up at the club tomorrow.

This weekend's official matchday magazine is dedicated to the late, great Patrick Cryne.

As well as a special edition front cover, we have messages from across social media paying tribute to the former Reds owner who passed away last weekend after a courageous battle with cancer.

Paul Heckingbottom and others pay their respects to Mr Cryne, whilst fans from across the football family, media personalities as well as players past and present leave their words of condolence.

Ian McMillan and Neil Richardson return with their regular columns.

We have our usual 10 pages focused on the opposition.

Reds legend, Barry Murphy discusses his magnificent service to the Reds.

All this and more in your official matchday magazine, only £3 from around Oakwell on Saturday!

To repeat our earlier statement, Barnsley Football Club will be publishing an extended, special edition, Patrick Cryne tribute issue of BE RED for the Sheffield Wednesday fixture on February 10. This will allow us time to reflect as a Club and for us to best remember one of the most influential figures in our 130-year history.

I was really hoping to go, but I'd have to choose between that and the electric bill this week, and the electric bill wins

Hoping to make the next one
