Harvey Barnes has now played games for both us & Leicester. so am I correct in thinking if they decide he's not ready to push for a place in their first team & wanted to loan him back out, then we are the only option?
Yes. We supposedly have an interest in the West Ham goalscorer from last night. However, the only place he can be loaned to this season is Bolton, as he has already played for them. He either goes to Bolton or stays at West Ham. There are no other options. The same logic applies to Barnes.
Something doesn't sit right with his recall back to Leicester , it just seems pointless from all sides . He didn't even get a game last night against Fleetwood .
Maybe the logic is we’ve made a bid for him and before deciding the management team at Leicester wanted to take one last look at him before deciding to sell to us?
Think he started the previous Fleetwood game didn't he? Think he just wants to have a closer look at him. Can see him getting a few sub appearances by the end of the season.
I bet someone can circumvent that regulation, and it won't be us ! Would you gamble your mortgage on him returning to us or being loaned/sold elsewhere?
Barnes is highly rated at Leicester and within the England set up so I would be incredibly surprised if they’re minded to accept a bid from us at this stage.
I just thought it was a case of him doing well for us early on Leicester having a manager who was only appointed in October so he probably wanted to have a look at him.
I don't have a mortgage so yeah why not. I know clubs bend other rules but not sure there is any way around this one
Yes he did start at Fleetwood but was brought off after an hour . If the Leicester manager was planning on giving him some game time last night would have been perfect . The recall just seemed so abrupt , like the first opportunity (1st Jan) . Well he ought to have a quick look then send him back here . Leicester have played 4 matches since Barnes went back and so far he's played 50 odd minutes away at Fleetwood . I think if Puel wanted to have a look at him he would have played him last night .
Can't see any chance of us buying him. Hope he comes back on loan though. I know he blows hot and cold but he's young in his first season of proper football, he'll get better and better. And when he's on it he's a REALLY good player in my opinion.
He could be a replacement for Mahrez? Leicester might be thinking.. what if we can't get someone in on time? Obviously then they can get someone better in the summer & cope with just Gray, Albrighton & Barnes. Same thing happened with Adrien Silva, he came in to replace Drinkwater and was too late with the paperwork
Or Leicester could be playing hard to get and are expecting us to put a bid in for him for 4 million plus
On this reasoning of playing for two teams - hasnt fletcher already player for 2 in west ham and boro or didnt he get a game for west ham this season?
