Winnall, Shea, Wilkinson, Mellis, Frimpong. Off the top of my head. All of those had the same sort of attitude and it absolutely stunk. All of these players are a disgrace and I'd honestly rather have Chris Morgan as manager than see any of them back in a Barnsley shirt. Seriously I don't mind players that weren't good enough for us but not someone who spent 2 and a half years having a go at our academy players and having temper tantrums every time he got substituted. Be nice if this club had some self respect and told him to go f*ck himself.
Same Morgan who kissed our badge ****** off to united and then kissed theirs... oh and assalted ian hume and left him witg a fractured skull and a scar for life yeah less said about him the better. I don't mind winnall Having his say I'm not buying it but let him say what he wants.
We invited him on. Many supporters wanted to hear from him. I accept he's not everyone's cup of tea, but surely that's the interesting part of the podcast, that we get all sorts of characters on. It's not just club rhetoric. Sam was one of the most prolific strikers in Barnsley Football Club history. He played a huge, and fantastic part in that 2015/16 season. He could have turned us down. But he didn't. He wanted to come on and talk about his time at the club. You're all talking about the podcast. Job done.
Didn't think so but then it suddenly dawned on me that you might have to pay them to get them to give up their time.
No. It has never ever come up, not in my 18 months anyway. Some have refused (naming no names), some seem keen then disappear, but nobody has ever asked for any money. Anyone you'd like to hear from? All ears.
I know the chances of it are extremely slim but I would love to hear from either John Dennis or Peter Doyle or Ridsdale. Not to find out anything controversial or anything just to hear anything good that they liked about running the club and how far they feel we've come
Barry Conlon or Tommy Wright (the **** striker not the bent lovely person) Joking! Would love to hear from someone like Istvan Ferenczi or Anderson De Silva.
From a personal point of view, I'd like to hear from the players who played when I was a kid, as they're the ones who I'll always view through rose tinted glasses. David Currie, Mal Shotton, Mark Smith, Gerry Taggart, Andy Saville, Brendan O'Connell, Mark Robinson and others. For me one of the most thrilling periods was from 88 to 92, when Allan Clarke built a very good side which just missed out on the playoffs and then went a bit cack the next season. Machin took over, saved us from relegation and then took us to the brink of the playoffs again. Some very interesting seasons. Others of interest might be John Beresford (was he really sold against his will to pay for new floodlights?) and Andy Payton (just because he's supposedly a complete oddball).
If possible my old next door neighbour and first reds hero glynn riley. Even had my hair permed to look like him.
Others I’d be intrigued to listen to @YTBFC :- Lee Butler Gwyn Thomas Jan Aage Fjortoft David Hirst Clive Baker John McDonald Alan Clarke Roger Wylde Paul Cross Scott Jones I could actually go on for ever with loads more
