They have respect for the club & the town & have a mass of experience that can take us from an over achieving provincial club, to being better still. We need to get behind them, the team & Hecky. They spoke so highly of Patrick Cryne, our saviour as a club & are clearly our best option going forward. COYR. We need to give Patrick, the new owners & the team 200% on Boxing Day.

Just watched it and have to say the same. Quietly impressed by it, and most reassuring is the long term view they have. Just get the feeling that it will be step by step progress, no overnight gambles, and I hope the town responds as best as it can.

I've also been impressed by the way this has been done away from media and public eye, and a lot of credit must go to Patrick and his family and Gauthier, as well as the investors. The process in some ways reflects what I think the years ahead will be like. Just quietly getting on with it, aiming to build year on year, sustaining the club.

And finally, it sounds like Hecky is among like minded people. Every manager or coach ultimately lives or dies by results, but I think the long term view strengthens his position and there's clearly a belief in him from both a football angle and the local integration. They're also going to put further resource in to support him, not undermine him.

We aren't going to become a liability or a bankrolled club, but we have new ideas, mixed with the old guard (James Cryne on the board is an excellent outcome) and whilst the story is yet to unfold, it's as close to being a perfect balance of progress v tradition as I think we can get. Let's embrace what the new investors and existing club management are trying to do. From small acorns........
