.......... thats what it sounds like to me listening to the interview. So why why why ...... dosent Barnsley play on that ??? If it's known that Cardiff will continue to foul - why arnt Barnsley players playing to that and staying down for treatment every time they are fouled? It it's known that Cardiff will continue to kick the ball away - why dont Barnsley players stand in the spot to take the throw in or foul and wait while one of the Cardiff players brings the ball back - if referee says anything then just demonstrate that they are constantly kicking the ball away. If it is know that Cardiff will continue to argue with the referee - why dont Barnsley players continually remind the referee that Cardiff are constantly trying to influence his decisions? Play the referee as well as the opposition. Use fire against fire. Use negativity against negativity. Believe me - it works.
You listened to Hecky's interview but obviously didn't take any notice. He said we are learning gamesmanship - alluded to the fact that it had taken 18 months working with his last batch of players to get some of them aware of how to 'spoil' a game when needed (my words, not his)
Warnock has done it with every team he's managed. It does work. The only problem is for us that we will pick up silly yellow cards along the way and we haven't really got strength in depth to keep covering suspensions.
You obviously read my initial post and didn't take it in. Warnock / Blackwell teams get away with this all the time. How difficult is it for Hecky to teach the players: 1) stay down and overreact if you are fouled. 2) if they kick the ball away - our players must NOT touch the ball until it is returned. 3) if you see their management team or players complaining to the referee- then I want as many of our players to surround the referee and complain that they are trying to influence his decisions. But we never do it !!!
No, no, no - I don't want to watch a team pre-occupied with playing negatively, feigning injury, staying down etc. Because what you get is what we got last night - crap football.
My view is that going up, or even making the playoffs, is not worth having to endure watching that type of football. Fine if you grind out 3 or 4 results a season by doing it but not to have it as the mainstay of our game. If the result is the be all and end all and you're prepared to watch your team play that way every game then I'm afraid you are better saving money and time and watching the scores come in on sky sports news.
I think I'm right in saying that we haven't had a single booking for dissent all season. Presumably that's largely because the players aren't in the referee's face all the time. Have to say I prefer our approach over Cardiff's every time. What we witnessed last night is precisely why Warnock is reviled and grudgingly respected in equal measure throughout football.
Yes - of course our approach is better. But when we come up against a Wazzer team and the like then we should be able to adapt to their game. That's why Wazzer is a winner - he will adopt any tactic to get himself a win.
Yes. That is how I understand he is known by. Are you offended ??? As for Wazzer - reports that he's praising the job Hecky has done. He's like this when he wins. However - if he had lost then he would have to be carried off the field kicking and screaming- with the referee under particular attack. Referees are frightened of him - and because of this we get comments like we have from Hecky
From who? When?? Been interviewing Warnock on & off for the best part of 20 years at various clubs and have never heard that anywhere from anyone.
