Whether or not this is a wind up...I'd genuinely love to read an owners view of football. I'm a massive fan of PC and think he's a victim of his own success in many ways... To pick up on the list in more detail: John Dennis - what was the nature of the fallout with JD? I can't imagine PC to be the kind of person that would turn away expertise...maybe he didn't feel JD had anything to offer? Doyle - does he feel mistakes were made with the Doyle deal and has that led him to be more careful about selling the club thus far? Maurice Watkins - did he feel that Maurice was able to offer anything to us? From a fan's perspective he was distant but his involvement also coincided with a huge change in our recent fortunes. Barry Taylor - who does he have naked pictures of? Joking aside - why is Barry's involvement so pivotal to BFC? Ridsdale - famous for mismanagement more than anything else - what did he give to us during his time? Shepherd - again, Shepherd and Rowing were linked with their styles...and it culminated in a breakdown of relations with the local press. Was that siege mentality coming from PC or was it the characters in place? Rowing - easily slated but also effective at keeping costs down. Maybe the right man at the right time...which then became the wrong time. If he had his time again would PC have stuck with the Don as long as he did? Mansford - known as ******** Ben to some but hindsight seems to have many suggesting they'd have him back. He certainly didn't seem to have a problem in attracting players who otherwise would have rejected us. Any regrets about Ben? Linton Brown - what even happened here? The guy seemed to make a HUGE difference to our commercial activity but we then lost him. Was the step up to CEO premature? Ganaye - what was the thinking behind Gautier? Seems to have a neutral reputation amongst fans thus far. Chien Lee - what is it about this particular group that is attractive? Where did other interested parties fail? Maybe this would help to give the fans some perspective of PC's role as a custodian. Strategy of giving players away to now not giving players away - how pivotal were the likes of Lee Johnson, Hecky, Keith Hill in developing the strategy and the Barnsley DNA? Do you think fan understanding of the strategy is important? Managers - from Ritchie all the way through to Hecky. Would love to hear some of the reasons for hiring and firing the managers.
He never said that did he? Just can't see why you would be critical of someone who has questions about something that doesn't interest you.
I'm sure you have read on of my previous post - that I regard all that use the term WUM as being of hard of thinking. But that's not the case here. Your points are exactly some of the points that I would like to hear PCs views on. Good post.
I certainly do have an interest in Barnsley fc. So much so that I've missed 1 game out of the last 65, home and away. I think you would agree that's quite an interest and financial outlay. I have an interest in the takeover and running of the club, but I don't crave to know everything, and going by other posters and fans I know personally, it's not at the top of everyone's priorities. Re my time, I'm self employed, have the Internet on my phone, and can easily post on here between doing other stuff (I even allow myself tea breaks during the day) You need to chill out nudge, for a wind up merchant you seem very wound up yourself.
PC by his own admission sees himself as the custodian of the club and has said on numerous occasions that he's looking to pass the club onto a new custodian but will only do so if the buyer can satisfy him that the long term future of the club is secure and in safe hands. Surely the fact that PC still hasn't (up to press) offloaded the club means that he's sticking to his guns and is looking to secure our club's future as opposed to simply jumping ship and moving on at the first opportunity. That's my view of it all anyway.
jesus christ. How is Nudger's post "holding PC to account for all of the above"? Its asking for his opinion or point of view on all those persons/events.
I don't think I said anything critical. I said he doesn't speak for us all, and that some have other things to occupy them.
Should I have said - there's so much that the 'thinking' Barnsley fans want to know. That probably would have made it easier for you.
I think you've probably just insulted a lot of people that don't agree with your point of view. Water off a ducks back for me though if that's all you've got to offer. It's proper keyboard warrior stuff.
