You’ve got to be kidding? Look around, Sheff Wednesday, Hull, Leeds, Forest, Newcastle, Sunderland etc. These are clubs who’s fans are completely separate. Our full back was sat with the fans on Tuesday. Our owner was writing a heartfelt message to our fans only a month or two back. Our managers born about 4 miles from the ground & loves the town. Our staff are full of people either born in Barnsley (Hecky, Tonge, Winder) or moved to the area, love it & set up Home here (Hassell, Devaney). We’re regularly one of the best clubs for community work. What’s so out of touch about the club? Cryne’s regularly told us he’s looking to sell if he can find the right buyer. What is it that you need to know? Surely you aren’t moaning about the takeover? Anyone with a brain cell knows it can’t be spoken about due to confidentiality agreements that are common in football.
I see everyone is on Phil's back, as usual, but I have to say there is some truth in what he says, isn't there? The fact is that fan engagement took a nose dive when Mansford left and hasn't recovered at all under the new CEO (and I'm not saying it was perfect then either). The fans have concerns about the takeover but have heard little. Closing the box office twitter account, which I thought was a really useful source of information and provided great customer service. That seems to have been lost along with some of the other good stuff Mansford brought.
The thing that really gnaws at me about all this digging at Patrick, GG, Whitey, the ‘club’, etc etc, about the takeover is how utterly disrespectful it is to Patrick Cryne. First of all, as a number of sensible posters have pointed out, these deals are covered by legally-binding non-disclosure terms. Do people really want Patrick to break the law on this? Secondly, notwithstanding the legal position, the negotiations are between our OWNER (not GG, Hecky or Whitey ffs) and the Chien Lee consortium, with a number of other parties involved, lawyers, advisers, financiers, the council and the EFL/FA for starters. Our owner just happens to be battling a terminal illness and is in the last few months of his life. I for one am eternally grateful that at this ******* awful time he’s decided to prioritise the sorting out of the future of the club we all love. That act in itself is the biggest ‘statement’ that Patrick/the club could make. Show some respect and trust the man who saved us, rather than bairning over not having a pointless banal soundbite. We have a big game tomorrow that could define our season, can’t we focus on that (like GG and Hecky) and let Patrick get on with the takeover in his own, ******* precious, time?
I agree to be honest. I think this "campaign" is the worst possible PR stunt at the worst possible time. Club are probably laughing their ******** off at all the dopey chuffs on the BBS thinking/hoping they might reveal something that we actually want to know.
Nudger has realised his own wind ups are crap so he’s just decided to keep agreeing with HT to get his kicks
I think this is fair. Ignoring HT and his agenda we have got markedly worse at communicating with the fans since Mansford left. He had us moving in the right direction but since then we have not only stopped but slammed into reverse.
Refuse to believe that Patrick or the club couldn't put something out to reassure the fans though. As for confidentiality clauses, a daily mail reporter alleged it was the new buyers who asked the mail to run the original takeover story.
I"m pleased he does , he could in the future act as an interpreter for us dummies who do not comprehend your continual wind ups
Thank you for that Gally. I wonder if any of the dumb skulls on here would dare accuse you of being a WUM ???
