In what sense? Haven't both the CC and FC made considerable improvements over the years? The FC had two stands at one point, did it not?
At one period, to get promoted to the next level the ground had to be totally enclosed by a wall, unable to be viewed from the road. They are not allowed to do this due to country park status.
Dont know what the fuss is all about ...from past history if its anything to go by ...the bigger they get, mores the chance they will just up sticks and move...wakefield ..pontefract would be my guesses
They sho They should have gone with the option at Woolley that they were originally looking at.. Closer to their roots at Barugh Green and there is scope for development. Only problem there was the cricket pitch being smack next to footy pitch so to develop the ground the cricket pitch would have to be shifted over. Not hard in landscaping terms but politically in terms of the cricket team, massive issue.
If the man had any nous he would have started there, crazy trying to establish a team in a town where the club has more 2nd tier seaons than anyone else. Especially when there are countless places such as the one you've mentioned and Skipton, Newark, Holmfirth without a club. Bradford P.A can't progress much further for this exact reason
I hope them & any other Barnsley sides do well. Be pretty good if we had a side in conference / conference north level just for local players to get a game who aren't quite good enough for Barnsley. Lots of our academy lads like Templeton & others could hopefully join them
The senior team merged with Worsbrough Common F.C.[1] in 2011 to form Aquaforce Barnsley F.C.,[2] taking Worsbrough's Sheffield & Hallamshire County Senior League Division One place and winning promotion to the Premier Division in 2012. Aquaforce Barnsley then merged with Barugh F.C., another ailing local team, to form Shaw Lane Aquaforce. MK Dons f*ckers
Barugh Green were training at Shaw Lane though I think. Shaw Lane groundshare with Athersley Rec now anyway in Athersley.
Lol...Hardly MK Dons when they started in the Hallamshire County serior league. Level 14 in the pyramid, any lower and you are talking pub football where clubs regularly stop or start playing.... Well done Shaw Lane.
Nope weren't New inn, im pretty sure the first aquaforce team started by taking over a wilthorpe sunday team, way back when.....
