When you had no running hot water a tin bath & yer mam used to bath you int twin tub mid week, I kid you not. Also the windows used freeze on the inside, no inside toilet or shoes that fit properly n first up best dressed, a could go on & on.....Great days
Don't think that's fair. All the python's except Palin were from what could then be considered working class backgrounds. Parents professions included insurance salesman and policeman. It is clear though that all were bright individuals and did rather well as a consequence.
Oh yes another thing, when that fake mice came out (Quorn stuff) that was it, no mice beef from then on, wern't too bad actually.
Cardboard or thick paper cut the shape of your shoes and put inside them because you had holes in the soles
Ice on inside of windows, the only central heating was a coal fire in the middle room, coits on't bed so you could not move.
I used to love an elephant patch I had sewn on to a pair of trousers when I was around 5 or so. I even had my school photo taken with 'em on as I loved it that much.
