Potts - Magnificent, well done lad, you've had some stick, but you've ignored it and kept going. Jackson - Magnificent. Well done lad, you've had some stick, but you've ignored it and kept going. Hammill - Magnificent. Simply magnificent. Lindsay - Magnificent. McCarthy - Magnificent. Hecky - Magnificent. Sunderland - Pathetic.
Jackson - that fella has done brilliantly! He looks a lot older than 23 which I think makes people think he's more experienced than he is. Can't believe he's taken all the stick he has (despite us doing well last year when in the team), come out the other side, and looks our most accomplished defender. Pinnock looks like he's got great ability and will do well given time and experience & sounds like Lindsey looked good today after a nervy start. Suddenly Angus will need to show the form he did last year just to get a place on bench! Great signs. Credit to Hecky though too. He must know how to manage a squad!
agree with all of that apart from the Sunderland bit, they were not pathetic for me. The first half they gave us a lot of trouble and roasted us down our left. They had one really big problem in the fact that their shooting and finishing was truly woeful. We totally deserved that win and the clean sheet today..... that is without a doubt. We will only get better and better as we did today from about 15 or so minutes on. Sunderland have a set of very good players, but what they do not have is spirit or a back room staff that can bring that to them, they can get even poorer... Happily we have all of that in our backroom boys. A fantastic day today.
The other key to our magnificent performance is that we've got lots of blonde haired players. In general, blonde players are better than dark haired players (apart from Dorothy of course). A shrewd move from Hecky to build a blonde squad.
I think we're also helped by having a lot of tall but narrow players who are generally better than small but narrow players; or small but wide players; or even tall but wide player.
Totally agree. Tall narrow players can get through smaller spaces which open up in even the tightest defences. Wide players would get stuck.
Just don't see the Potts thing how he got MOTM totally baffles me , yes he had his best game for us so far and tried his best but I just don't get what people see in him . You don't even mention Williams who was tremendous today
Part of the Master race ...some may claim....but don't mention the war....nudge nudge wink wink....know what i mean Harry...lol
Chuffed for Brad Potts. He's took way too much stick for me after just a few games. Seen loads of it & I've got that Matchday Drinkers account on twitter & he's given Potts some right hammer but then whinges about other fans not supporting the team. You can't make it up. The game changing moment for me came about 20 minutes in when Potts picked the ball up just inside the Sunderland half & didn't have a pass on & it was almost through a lack of any other option he drove forward & won a corner & it got the crowd going & seemed to give him a massive lift & he looked like he played with a lot of self belief after that. I just think folk should chill out a bit with the slating of our new players, especially the young inexperienced ones. There's no doubt many of them will search their names on twitter & maybe even on here.
