    I think it's more to do with an old gent wanting to please the people he was talking to.
    And probably he has many great memories of Bramall Lane as a cricket ground.
    And people on here are so ignorant that they can't see that.

    Loads of jealousy coming from some Barnsley fans against those from Barnsley that have been successful in life.
    Which probably reflects the - only 9% of poor people's kids go to university thread.

    To be fair to Dickie he didn't get a statue because of his support for BFC he got it because he is a world renowned and respected cricket umpire and also a national celebrity and former Yorkshire CC President , the statue is more or less on the spot where he was born ,there used to be a row of terraced houses there. I think the interview is just a case of old Dickie playing up to his hosts and he obviously doesn't have any animosity towards the Bumhole Laners

    Nowt to do with being jealous. If sheff Utd asked me to watch a game and then want me to wear a tie I would tell him to get fu.....- well most barnsley fans would actually know what I mean.

    Expect to see you in the sheff Utd end at the next game Nudge as you clearly aren't a barnsley fan any day of the week tbh.

    The interview is dickie 'owt for free' bird making sure he gets free stuff like he always seems to do. If they offered him a free lunch I wouldn't be shocked to see him change his name to 'Osama bin bought' and waving a black flag.
